Back to Beauty

The creek still had enough water from earlier rain to provide a good flow! Photo taken by and the property of FourWalls.

Sorry, but the news just annoys me. So, I took a drive. In addition to gas for about 45c a gallon cheaper than it was in Louisville, I got to see some late autumn beauty. I had mentioned earlier this year about going to Saunders Springs Nature Preserve in Radcliff, Kentucky, near the Fort Knox Army post. I went back there for some peace and quiet. And, of course, some beauty. I was not disappointed. Thanks to some windy weather a lot of the foliage was gone, but that didn't stop things from still being great. I took the shortcut to the High Reservoir (nudge nudge, wink wink) and enjoyed the scenery as I walked around it. From there, I walked back to the parking lot on a path that is very close to the boundary line for the army base (as in, you could reach out and touch the sign that said "Warning: U.S. Government Property" without leaving the trail). Along the way I noticed a ledge that had a little bit of water dripping over it. I hadn't seen it previously, because I hadn't walked that particular trail. I was excited, though, because I knew that would be some gorgeous viewing after a rainfall!! The trip worked like a charm. I came home and took a nice, peaceful nap.

It is a shame that it was such a windy day. I am glad that you enjoyed the spectacular scenery so very much. Yes, after rainfall the viewing must have been even more special.

Now that sounded like a wonderful time. I need to get away myself. But it is not easy for me. Glad you enjoyed that little trip. I know what you mean about the news driving you crazy. It has gotten on my nerves as well and I am just tired of watching. Luckily I have my Apple TV so I can watch whatever I want when I want.

We all need to turn off the news, get outside and relax. Beautiful picture. I got a nap today after running errands this morning. I haven't been sleeping as well with Mike going to his mom's at night. Not that I am scared to be by myself I just don't sleep as good when he's not here. I'm not a great sleeper anyways.

The ledge looked beautiful, a plain place for getting some refreshing moment by just sitting there as enjoying the little waterfal. :-)
