this is actually a good topic! before i proceed with this topic, i just want to say that am thankful for having the oppertunity to meet all you wonderful people here on mylot, with that being said i will proceed with the topic now. do you wish your skin was lighter or darker ? good question or should i say great question. i'm a young darkskin female and i know am beautiful ..we all are. i use to hate the color of my skin, i use to wish i was lighter because lighter girls always seem so much cuter. most of my ex's left me for someone lighter and i guess all that made me wish i was lighter. wishing i was darker, was never in my books at all, this was all in the past and i honestly like how i look now, i don't want to be lighter or darker anymore because my dark skin suits me and am now so happy with it. do you wish your skin was lighter or darker?

I was always happy with the color of my skin. Now, and after chemotherapy, I´m unhappy about my skin in general. It is thin and I have to worry about the sun. I have had several skin surgeries due to cancer.

@Dairy5 I have a cancer in remission. I keep my fingers crossed. But I am a person with cancer, not a cancer. I cook, I garden. And if it wasn´t for the COVID (worse than cancer) I would have gone for vacations this year.

I did not know (or had forgotten) that you'd had chemo. I'll send healthy vibes your way.

I am fine with my skin color. My dad is naturally darker, and my mother is fair skinned . . . I am in between but perhaps more like my dad.

@Dairy5 Well, depends on what shade you mean . I am Japanese (raised in the US) and my skin is darker than the stereotype white porcelain skin of Asians.

My skin is fair and I am happy with my skin, I would like a bit darker, as I was tanned.

I think we should all try to be happy in our own skin. I am glad you are more happy in yours. And it was ex’s loss.

I am really pale and I mean really pale... I don't even tan I lobster literally I get redness of the skin that doesn't fade for months :/ But I do love my skin colour and have never participated in getting that healthy (fake) tan I remember many of the girls in highschool spending a bunch of money on fake tans... I never saw the point.

I am happy with my white skin. I like the tanned lock however I don't want to get skin cancer. I have green eyes and dark brown straight hair. I wish I had blue eyes and ginger curly hair. I would would have it long and lush looking.

I like the color of my skin. I always have. If I'm very honest, I wish I had less tan lines. In fact, I do in some places than in others. But, unless I bought a lawn chair and started to sunbathe in the yard, my skin color will remain as it is.

I am happy with my skin. But I see beauty in all skin tones. I think it's funny that many "white" people want to be "tan," while beige and dark people want to be lighter.

Just love our color of skin whatever it is, before I want a lighter color for my skin because it's looks more clean and people here tend to like a lighter one, but in other parts of world people just like darker color. Now, I think it's more important to have a healthy skin despite all the colors, and I believe healthy is beautiful

I believe so also. Once your skin is healthy and glowing should be our main worries
