A Ladies Day with and without a Man

My son’s girlfriend texted me yesterday asking if I was available for a visit. Of course I was. I don’t leave the house much.
She told me that she would arrive around 2:00 pm. Hubs and I prepared nibbles (mixed nuts and green and red grapes) and opened a bottle of her favorite white wine.
When she arrived without my son, I asked her where he was. She told me that she thought it would be nice to have a ladies day. How sweet, but I asked her to invite him, too. She did, but he was too busy with work to visit.
So we had a very nice ladies day visiting for over 2 hours with my husband.
What a sweet girlfriend he has! Next time it will be just the ladies.

too bad your son didn't go, but she did hint at it just being her it seems.. and is nice she wanted a ladies day with you.

@DianneN honestly, it could've been just her not wanting to, or having a bad experience with exs moms / parents.. me personally, i dont really want to be around my bfs parents. But thats because i was for so long at the first 4-5 years of our relationship and they ended up being rude towards me a few times so thats why i dont go there.

Thank you. My husband joined us outside thinking our son would be here with her. He gave us a chance to talk girl talk when he checked up on the contractors working on our deck a few times, but he joined us for a while. She's a very bright girl and we all discussed politics and the law.
She and my son will be here later for a visit and perhaps dinner outside.

Your husband was probably looking forward to the visit too and sampling your years you put together. It was nice of you but to much fun out, lol.
It's nice you can spend time with this girlfriend even when he's not there. I'm guessing the previous girlfriend want that friendly unless she wanted something?
