I saw this poem used in some election campaign material recently, from a famous modern Irish poet - Seamus Heaney: The Cure at Troy. It was used on this homage to recent events, to close the national news on the Irish state broadcaster, RTÉ's, channel last night. The images are different from the campaign version, but the words are read by the same man. Watch closely, play loud!

Hey there, it appears that I lost touch with you. I didn't realize you were still around.

I drop in occasionally, just to see who's still about. Glad you are still dipping in occasionally too.

@pgntwo I've been around more often this past month but I'm heading back to work tomorrow.

Surprised, it is a good idea and works well on the video. Nobody would try to do something like this in France, the average audience is too illiterate

But they say ignorance is bliss... I'd rather be happy than ignorant, though.

I have to say it is a beautiful poem. I hope that the hope of the poem isn’t disappointed. With everything going on in the world at the moment we could all do with some positive news.

Positivity, yes, in short supply in these times... Take pleasure where ye may.
