i always give some money to the waiter , do you give and why?

The last time I ate out, I was with my boyfriend at ihop. The waitress was just terrible. She gave us a dirty look coming up to us (I'm black and he's white) I knew it wasn't going to go well. He has his quirks, and one of them was the issue that day. We ordered a single serving of pancakes (we weigh under 260 combined) and he requested a 'bowl' of butter and an ash tray. (he was a heavy smoker) She got us our food and we never saw her again. We had another waitress give us an ashtray and heaping bowl of butter. we left our waitress a one penny tip. I insisted we leave that so that she knew that we tip according to service rather than not at all.

yes you are right we should give tips according to their service, i think that waitress dont like cigeratte smell, your boyfriend is great, wish him, thank you

I always tip the waiter too, but I never go by the 15% rule. I tip based on how good their service was, so it could be more or less than 15%.

oh 15% is very high for a waiter, i think so, i will give only the balances to the waiter.

Yes!But... Only if it is goood service... I wont tip if I am not happy with the service The ones that upset me is where they actually ADD ON the service tip in the BILL!!!!OOOohhhh that one annoys me!!
