I was not very surprised at the way the election in the USA turned out this year. What I was surprised about was that some Trump supporters were not expecting it at all. I think the difference may have been that I watch the news and many Trump supporters often say they don't trust the media. You have a perfect right to that opinion, but if you don't watch the news you're not going to know what is really going on. Regardless of how many times someone says it's all fake news, doesn't make it so. Put your head in the sand. Cover up your ears. You don't have to read or listen, but if you don't you are not going to know what is going on. There are reliable news sources in the USA. Many of them. Very credible. You don't have to like what they have to report. I often don't. But if you don't listen to the facts, you may be surprised at what happens.

I believe the news does have their "slant" that doesn't mean it's fake! A free press is our defense against tyranny. Some don't know or don't care about that.

There are news reporters and then there are opinion pieces. It's important to know the difference. The major news sources like PBS, CBS, NBC, ABC, etc. are reliable news sources. Some cable news, like MSNBC on the left and FOX news on the right, are admittedly slanted.

If the press were so honest and open they would announce that in their opinion only Biden won. They would not make it sound like truth. The Official Call is still out.

All of the votes will have to be counted and certified as they are for every presidential elections. That always happens some time after winners are projected by news outlets. This is no different than it's ever been.

@pjmurphy True yes but it is something that needs to be addressed as it has become much worse lately.

@Namelesss This was my15th presidential election to vote in. This is the way it always works. The electoral college will eventually make the final, legal decision. In the meantime, elections are always called when the result is clear statistically. We congratulate the winner and the loser concedes. The only thing that's different this year is the loser is failing to concede. Not really any surprise there.

I don't listen to the news, but I know what's going on because there's always someone telling what's going on. I don't hide my head in the sand. I was hoping for a different outcome but wasn't surprised by it.

But people may be telling it wrong. Just saying. I strongly believe it is important for us to stay informed.

The media is a very powerful institution, because they can convey the truth and they can also manipulate the truth.

If they manipulate the truth here in the USA, they'll be called out. We have a free and open press.

All news is fake anymore according to Trump supporters unless it is favorable to him.
