Breaded Pork Steaks Last Night

Being that I am not one to necessarily stick with "traditional," I had some pretzels in the cupboard, and I poured them into a blender and crushed them all up into a sort of "breading." I added that to some flour and added in some seasonings. Then I dipped my pork steaks in whipped eggs, and into the "breading mixture," and baked them. They were absolutely delicious, and I have not made these in a while. So they were like a bit of a treat. Disclaimer: Photo is mine, but not of my dinner last night. And these are pork chops, not pork steaks. But it was a picture I had readily available.

Pretzels do make a good alternative to traditional bread crumbs. Your dinner does sound good

@porwest my daughter crushed up captain crunch cereal and used it as a coating for chicken. At first I was skeptical but it was actually delicious

@Marilynda1225 Actually, now that you mention it, that does sound very good. It would be the perfect combination of sweet and savory that would go very well with pork or chicken. Hmm. Haven't had a box of Cap'N Crunch in the house for years. Now I just might have to get a box. Or what if I crush up peanut butter Cap'N Crunch? That might be tasty as well as peanut butter or peanuts are a common thing that goes well with pork for sure.

They turned out moist, juicy, and delicious, and had just enough of a crunch on the outer layer to make it even better. I was very happy how they turned out.
