...And Just Like That

I try so hard not to be a conspiracy theorist. I try so hard to keep the tin hat carefully locked away. But sometimes things just add up to something and it just sort of makes some bit of sense.
Like my thought that the hyping up of the Coronavirus was more about the election than about the virus itself.
And now that the mission was accomplished, 13 days after election day, we have two vaccines being introduced that are being said to be 90% and 94% effective.
One from Pfizer and one from Moderna.
Set aside the idea that many people will still not GET the vaccine. That's not what is important. The idea is that if the media can report that the vaccine is out there, and suddenly the virus just sort of goes away...
The media can link the two as an explanation for the success of eradicating the virus.
Virus bad, Trump bad. Trump out, virus out.
When Biden told the American people he would "shut down" the virus if he is elected, I don't think he was telling us he would do something to combat it. He was telling us that they wouldn't need it anymore and they will simply pull the plug on it.
Sounds crazy, right? But is it, really?

Did you see what the WHO just put out. Even at a 95% effectiveness rate the only way to keep it under control is... wait for it
Lockdowns.
They are already setting up the new narrative. Is it a conspiracy theory or a conspiracy fact? They said it so it must be true.

We, our state has a new lockdown beginning tomorrow. People might rebel maybe not yet but one day.

@Namelesss even for those more awake the problem I see is knowing exactly what to do other than contacting out reps. If they're from the other side they won't help anyway.

@MarshaMusselman By the time they figure out what is really happening it will be too late. The time to wake up is now. I wish you all the best my friend.

How was Biden planning to "shut down" the virus?

@lovebuglena I am not sure Biden knows what he is saying half the time. And that's not meant to be a mean jab at him. It's just an observation based on a lot of things he has said that leave you scratching your head.

I understand many people's reasons for questioning the virus, the media, and the elections. But, I feel like one important aspect that is often overlooked is that it wasn't just an issue that the US dealt with. Pretty much the *entire world* came to a halt and beginning to halt again.
I am currently outside the US. I was on an exploratory trip around the world with my kiddos. We had just left Europe and landed in the nation of Georgia when the news started coming out in China.
I decided to stay here to ride out the beginning part, and I am glad we did. But, the lockdowns are coming back into full swing as we just got put under a new curfew a few days ago. I am seriously considering staying for another year given everything going on.
One other thing to consider: This was a good test-run for how to respond to threats like biological warfare. As a nation, we failed it, IMO. The US used to be vigilant to proactively address existential threats. But, to me, it appears we have lost that ability. That's seriously concerning, is it not?

Pfizer had rectified their report and it is now 95% effective.

I'm with you but we shall see. I'm pretty sure the numbers aren't accurate but there's no proving that.

I wish I had some Moderna stock. Did you see the 52-week high and low on the stock?

It is hard not to be somewhat believe in conspiracy theories when you see things happening before your very eyes.

@porwest The national ID is being introduced again now. I remember in University decades back and an activist classmate of mine was vehemently opposing this because of loss of privacy as well as control. Confusing times. I feel powerless and passive.

These things do happen because we see media helping a particular party

There is a cure, it is only a matter of time before the world wants to release it to the public. Theories were held here that it would be right after the elections in America.
