A little less than two miles

My neighborhood has several streets that loop back on itself. This morning I followed one of those streets and doubled back to walk around two miles. I didn't burn as many calories as I'd have liked, nor did I burn as much fat, but I exercised so that counts for something.
Soon I will have to consider doing exercise videos on youtube so that I can keep fit and keep with this weight loss goal. It was 48 degrees farenheit this morning when I went outside to walk.
Eventually I'd like to be get to where I am comfortable with running for a half mile or more. I'm not at that point yet. I've been sitting at the same weight for the last two weeks. It fluctuates by about two lbs.
Maybe I should walk twice a day like I used to years ago. Once in the morning and then again just before sunset.
Did I mention I loathe cardio? Yeah...

I mostly loathe cardio too. I love cycling and walking, but just at a leisurely, enjoyable pace.
I have borrowed snowshoes from the library and that was a workout yesterday! I feel my legs. I was huffing and puffing up a few hills, so maybe I managed some cardio.

Oh, I bet you did manage a little cardio having to huff and puff up the hill with snowshoes on.
Right, cycling would be more enjoyable for me. I'm the type of person who just wants to get her heart rate up to the fat burn zone and keep it there and just be done with the workout as soon as possible.

@paigea Yeah. Having to train for a 5k would be tough for me. I know of someone whose hobby is to run in 5k's. I commend her for it, but that's just not me..

@ScribbledAdNauseum I downloaded a free podcast for couch to 5k a few weeks ago. I was proud that I could do day one, but haven't done it again since
It is doubtful I will ever run or even slowly jog that 5k

I am your opposite - I love doing cardios, and I hate strength-training. I would love to have a loop near our place like that, but unfortunately the nearest one is about a 15-20 minute drive away from our house. And it surrounds a snobby, gated village so sometimes I get these weird looks from the poshy residents.

There's a poshy type place not too far from me either. It's hidden though, behind an older neighborhood. Actually, even the poshy homes are old, but well taken care of.
I have a park in my neighborhood too. It has a nice little trail to walk on and I've done that trail before, but it's flat so doesn't provide a lot of resistance.

@LadyDuck I would not venture further than my own street as the roads around me have inclines and declines. They also have bumpier areas that I am not familiar with.
One year we had so much snow that my brother in law got his car stuck trying to go up the hill.

If I dress warmly enough, I could walk all year round, but I tend to only walk in spring and fall.

@ScribbledAdNauseum If there is ice on the pathway I do not feel safe, even if I am dressed warmly enough.

Thank You!
Yes it's not fun to have your heart racing, but getting that heart rate up is what keeps us healthy.

@kobesbuddy It would be nice if we could eat whatever we wanted without fear of gaining weight. Too bad that isn't the case.

@LindaOHio Thank you. The encouragement really does help. I want to be healthy and at a weight that I feel confident in. I know it will just get harder to achieve as the years go by, so I'm doing it now and determine to keep it off.

I hope it will. As I told my best friend, I want to see myself in a size medium shirt again. That's all I ask.

I like dancing, but I also get tired of it too soon. Walking can be boring, but I try to make the most of it by taking a longer route to get the most exercise.

I think I'd rather do a little of both. I mean, I don't particularly like either but cardio, ab workouts and lifting would help me get to my goal faster.

I have been doing yoga with Yoga with Adriene. I have been doing the home 30 days of yoga. But I didn't do it last week because of my period. But I am doing it tomorrow.

I do walking videos online and do my own exercises because I do not want to gain the weight back that I lost a little over 3 years ago. Good luck.

Thank You. I will have to start doing the walking videos myself soon because it will be far too cold. It was chilly outside this morning so I walked less than five minutes today.

@Hannihar I've tried Zumba, but I don't feel as if I have enough room here to really get into it. There used to be a zumba studio close to me, but am not sure if they are in operation at the moment.
