Do you always wear makeup when you go out?

My mom is judging me because when I go out I don't wear any makeup. But I don't like this. I used to wear makeup and I had bad experiences. I don't like to draw attention. This question is for women. Do you always wear makeup when you go out? Is there a problem if I don't like to wear makeup when I go out?

Make up isnan essential part of my get up. At my age of almost 60 I would still don on make up as I would when I was young.

It's your choice - not everyone likes or cares for make up - and that's totally fine. I just happen to like make up, but these days I only use minimal eye make up (no need for lipstick now . . . and I haven't used foundation/powder in years, that I don't like). I know my mother would never get caught not wearing makeup - even in the house (except when she goes to bed!).

I never wear makeup when I go outside or to a gathering. I did wear makeup for my wedding but it was not because I wanted to. I can't stand it to have anything on my face. Some people put layers of makeup on their face and I just don't get it. Whatever happened to natural beauty or a natural look?

@dya80dya I can't stand anything on my lips either. Unfortunately, you are right. Some people do consider a natural look ugly. But I have seen people with makeup on and I didn't think they looked all that great. I prefer a natural look and think even those that put on makeup should make it look natural and not like they are a painting.

I wear a light makeup when I go out. If I am going to a party I use a bit more, but I never wear a lot of makeup. I think that you should choose what's right for you. You don't have to wear makeup if you feel more comfortable without it.

If I have time and I feel like putting on make up, then I will. But if I cannot be bothered, I usually just put on chapstick and call it good. I don't think there is anything wrong when someone chooses to put on makeup or not. Heck I don't think there is something wrong if you just want to put on makeup while you're at home. You do you, whatever makes you happy and whatever is comfortable for you.

Even your parents aren't always right. This world is very judgemental and if you do not do what majority does you become an outcast. Fight for your individuality my dear, if you do not want to wear makeup, then dont. Make sure your happy with who you are first, before doing things just to please others. and dont do anything, if you will have to lose yourself doing it.

When I was younger I always wore makeup when I went out. However, I found as I got over 50, the foundation didn't mix well, eye shadow looked out to place. So I quit wearing makeup. Then in Feb of this year, I was going to start wearing it again when I went out. But, due to covid, I haven't gotten out. I am 61.
