Have You Ever Performed in Public?

You might think that you have never or perhaps just once, but the more you think about it, the more times you will start remembering. It needn't be anything major... all the little times all add up too! I can't wait to hear some of your stories! Here's a hint... start back as far as you can remember. My very first time was sitting in a rocking chair singing to the church at a Christmas Concert. I had to be about six years old... that's all I remember. Oh, I do remember someone named Sylvia coaching me one last time before I went on stage. Isn't it funny that I remember getting ready to go on stage, but have no recollection of the song or how well or awful I did lol!

Does marching in a parade count?

I was in the school choral and hated every minute of the performing in front of an audience, I had no choice, the nuns made me do it,

That takes all the fun out of it when you are made to do something you really didn't want to do!!

My first recollection of a public performance was a play my first-grade class put on for our parents. I was a farm animal - a pig. I remember being on stage, but nothing more.

Yes, I have performed in the public together with my classmates. It was a dance demonstration at school. I have also danced Philippines folk dances on the stage in our school as well as in a multicultural show here in Germany.

@Hate2Iron Yes, it was fun. I can imagine that. How I wish I know how to tap dance.

I've performed on stage many times but I don't exactly remember when my first time was, but the last time I did was on last November, it was a dance battle and there were like more than 1 thousand people there as the audience, I won and got a medal and a $268.49 check. I'm more into sports but sometimes I take part in a dancing/singing contest when I need some money.

I joined school performance a couple of time. Actually I was force too. I was always seem like outgoing, so the teachers love to put my name. I even become Mary that's looking for her little lamb once. Now that I'm working, they still love to put my name. Even represent the company to Presentation competition (yes, such competition do exist)

You have some great memories even if you were forced to participate. I don't know why they do that! It should be your choice!

My wife and I used to travel to the state parks here on the Oregon coast doing presentations about Grey Whales. I guess that is performing in public. At one point we were designated as Volunteer Ambassadors to Oregon State Parks. We have done other presentations as well. It was a lot of fun and we met a lot of cool people along the way. Now we both volunteer near our homes my wife leading classes at the senior center (when it is open -- closed now until there is a vaccine available to the public) and I volunteer at the Hatfield Marine Science Center in Newport (again when it is open --- closed indefinitely due to the Covid Virus.) --- But for now, like many other retirees, we are sitting back and waiting for it to be safe to return to the active world.

Yes in church in the choir, sang with a friend special songs and in Christmas plays. As a kid in school, I played the national anthem on an organ in the 5th grade before an assembly. I sang in the choir in junior and senior high school.
