What to Cook?

It is a depressing gray day today. It is only 12°C and cold. I am glad I don´t have to go out.
I have planned to clean the living room window today and wash the curtains but the plan was changed. It seems the weather affects my mood of not cleaning the window.
In an hour, I have to cook for dinner and I still don´t know what to cook. I just defroze the pork meat this morning and marinated it. I am thinking about how to cook it, Filipino, German or Chinese style dish. This should be with veggies. Ah well, I will decide when I am in the kitchen.
Yesterday, I cooked mussels in a Filipino way. They were plenty for me to eat that I messaged my son if he wanted half of the mussels that I cooked. Gladfully, he said yes and he collected the food after his work.
Do you like mussels? How do you cook them?
Thanks for reading. I hope you have sunshine there where you are.

My husband LOVES mussels, but I don't. He eats them when we go out for seafood dinners. There's a restaurant in Paris that only serves mussels and of course we had to go there for my husband. I ate a few and gave him all the rest. It was a good diet day.

@DianneN The same with me.
I also forgot the name. My nieces wanted to eat snails in a restaurant in Paris but my sister and I said No way. So we ate in another restaurant.
I am glad you are a happy couple. Well, I know that through your writing.

We are having snow flurries here and I’m hating it. It’s so chilly.
I wanted to make meatballs and spaghetti for dinner tonight but I’m 1/4 shy on breadcrumbs so I will have to wait until I go out tomorrow to get some. I plan to make tuna helper tonight.

@DocAndersen I mostly cook them with shells. I think in the shells are the taste of the ocean.

Oh yes they're my favorite. We call them here as "green shells". We boil them with a lemon grass, with veggies like moringa, raw banana, tomatoes and garlic and ginger.

Yes, our mussels in Pinas are green. I love them too with lemongrass but I have not tried them with raw bananas. Thank you @Nakitakona

One of my brothers (he passed away) was the seafood guy. He was good at cooking all kinds of seafood, including mussels. So if I ever ate them it was because I was over at his house enjoying a meal.

That sounds delicious @RebeccasFarm. We had a Filipino dinner this evening. A monggo beans soup and boiled rice.

I love mussels--especially dipping bread in the sauce!! I make it a million different ways from garlic and oil to tomato sauce!

That´s great as you have a lot of variations on how to cook them @GreatMartin. I love to dip bread too when the mussels are cooked with tomato sauce. I eat boiled rice if I make the mussels in a Filipino way. Thank you.

I've never had mussels. My husband eats them. It is cloudy, cold and windy. We might get some snowflakes today. Brrrrr.
