Have a plan

When I was 18 and 19 years old I got given 50,000 pounds from my great aunt's will. Looking back I am glad I didn't waste that money on traveling the world. I had that love of travel and I had a clever idea how to travel for little money when I was like that. I went to work for a family in Finland. I looked after their children and taught there little girl how to speak English. It was a rich experience that let me have thinking time. What did I want my adult life to be like. I got a job in a shipping company. When I got the money I bought a cottage. I am glad I had a plan for my life. I got made redundant and I couldn't get another job. I went off traveling and become a teacher when I came back home. To do that I had to upgrade my qualifications and get a degree at a university.

I think over the years I have spent a lot of money on my travels. I don't think I wasted my money as I bought the cottage. I would have wasted my money if I had used all that money for traveling.

Thank you. I am so happy I bought that cottage. Now I live in a bungalow that is ideal for my family.
