I grew up in the country but now live in the city. I am going to be living alone in summer so want a pet to keep me company, but don’t want to commit to a new pet. I have a 13 year old cat back on the farm, and was thinking of bringing her to the city, and then taking her once I move cross country next March-April. Is this a good idea? Will it distrupt her too much? And any advice for her to adapt to new surroundings

I don't think bringing your cat to live in the city a very good idea. She is quite an old cat and she is used to living in the countryside. I took my dog, Secret, to London. Apart from walks in its parks he didn't like it. Maybe you could walk other people's dogs. Then you can spend time with pets and not feel so alone.

I don't think bringing your 13 year old cat to accompany you in city area is a good idea. First of all cats have limited life period. Secondly it is easy to maintain a cat in country area. They have enough space to move around and do their daily routines. It is difficult in limited space in city area.
