A contented family trio

Believe it or not, I try to limit my posts about kangaroos but I couldn’t resist this snap when a family group came to get a drink at the blue container. The bucks only hang around the does at certain times of the year but we are seeing a lot of this one lately. The doe with him is the one most frequently near the house. And the joey starred on my video just a few days ago. They all have tiny white spots on their foreheads. The buck is getting more used to our presence, or at least he is getting more used to being around the house. He is pretty relaxed here but was off and moving a few moments later when the doe and joey left.

They look like enjoying themselves. You keep water for them regularly? I do enjoy the Kangaroo posts.

@JudyEv Yes. The good part is that they have the space to enjoy, and you can watch them from a distance, without any fear of being attacked. Perhaps, in our places, we cannot have such an amicable thing. We have so many street dogs. Some people do adopt them, but everyone cannot afford them financially or in terms of carrying on their daily lives with them. Dog Houses are almost non-existent. Perhaps we would see some changes in the years to come, but nothing quickly as yet.

In the summer, in particular we have four or five watering points over the 18 acres. There is also a small dam but it dries up in the summer.

Do you think they are from the same bloodline is why they have the white spots on their forehead?

It could be because the do tend to stay in the same area. However, some does have them but the joeys don't so it's hard to say. Here is one that has a lot of white. I never saw it as an adult though.

@Hannihar Several come quite close to the house including this little group. They do seem to be more comfortable around us.

The one lying down is the buck. The middle-size one is the mother and the little one the joey. You don't often see such a group. Usually it's just Mum with her joey and perhaps a yearling as well.

There is a small dam on the place but it dries up during summer. It is more important to provide them with water in our country. Mostly there is always feed available.
