Online consultation was a success yesterday. So my daughter has fungal infection on top of the atopic dermatitis. That is what causing her lesions and rashes now. She will be in medications for two weeks and she will have a skin test on the 13th day of medication. She was given both oral anti-fungal medicine and steroids. I hope the medications work.

We also tried to have our son online consultation because he has sore throat the past days and it is irritating him. We have to set an appointment and examination of the throat was done via cp picture and send it to the doctor. Kind of weird that the doctor only prescribed mouthwash and some paracetamol for the pain. If symptomes persist she also prescribed us with antibiotics but should be taken after sometime if the sore throat worsens.

@rsa101 What doctor will examine over photos ? It's really difficult for me to believe this doctors over phone. It's kind of like going to medical shop and tell them I have loose motion give me 3 days medicines

Fungal infection and atopic dermatitis sounds bad. I had eczema before too and it was really uncomfortable and depressing for me. Hope that the medication will work well for her.

@rakski You're right. I needed to avoid stress at that time too because it also triggers the eczema.

Wow sounds really bad based on all that she was given. Did they say what it was? I’m thinking maybe something like impetigo.

no, it is not impetigo. More of ring worm or tinea manuum. It looks better now though she still has some small wounds

@rakski I see. Just that I remember that twice my daughters had rashes and I called my pediatrician, gave her description of the condition, and on both times, she asked me specifically to bring my daughters to her, so she could see the skin herself. Said that not all rashes mean the same ailment. For your precaution.

@eileenleyva true. I prefer to have face to face consultation since we are talking about skin. photos and video can reveal other things. But for now, I have to settle for this and if it does not work, then I have to go to another doctor in another city
