A working Saturday.. I might make it this month.

It's 4:15 PM here. Today was a working day for us. And till the end of this academic year ( March 2021) we might end up working every Saturday. Well, school is keeping a doubt clarification day on Saturday and also a day to counsel and give that extra help to students who are lagging behind academically or not performing up to mark. So it will be more like one to one or in small groups. Teachers have been given different slots and different groups. And everyday on weekday after school gets over we have to take these students for their one hour extra classes in afternoon. So next few months will be extra hours of work everyday. Now I have all plans to call my household help with all precautions in place. I didn't call her since March in this pandemic. But now we have planned to call her from Monday and take help in few works around house maintaining all safety and social distancing. My daughters and husband too are having tight schedule now a days and they are not free to help much around the house. This month has been slow here. But today I found my earnings showing a significant increase and I am half way through the minimum payout. I might or might not reach the payout. I would prefer to miss it. I love it when I get a double digit amount. So let it roll over to next month. I hope everyone is doing great here with their earnings and mylot goals for the monthWe still have more than a week left to catch up Stay safe in your mylot corner. Picture is of a cute clay work done by a three and half year old few years back when I worked in an inclusive Montessori environment. Just found it popping up as a reminder from Google photos.

Pandemic has cost so many problems for these poor people. I don't know what to say. Make her some clear statements. If you are calling her to your house make sure you have a sanitizer near by door and she uses it. Then only knock your door. Then once she is in wash her feets and then only start working in your house. Don't talk about payout I hardly reaches it every year

Well she works only in my house and has been with us for years. A dedicated and efficient person she is who earns respect with her grace and attitude which many educated high class lack. She is a big support. It was good to have her back. I feel so relieved in last two days. She was paid her salary on time along with festival perks even when she was not called. She works only in my house and has a scooty to commute. So that's safe in many ways. All precautions are in place and she has understood it well. We have a guest bathroom soon we enter the house. We don't use it at all. I have asked her to wash, clean, change there and then enter. All social distancing in place. I have bought a few masks for her and even face shield. She has to change the mask once she is here. And kitchen cleaning and washing dishes is still our job so that social distancing is in place. We have two floors so it gets easier to have social distancing. She is doing floor cleaning, laundry, terrace cleaning, watering plants etc around and that has saved me lot of time and energy. I don't set a goal here. I enjoy being here. I have earned 3 cents as my lowest in a month and $17 as my highest. On an average I have got $ 5 here every month

My wife is after me for several days now to recall our domestic help but my daughter is dam against it and she is not happy about it. She feels the things have improved now. My earnings have slowed down to great extent. I am not that active here. Will not make it this month for sure and even if I make it next month it has to be just on the borderline.

Even here the plan to call students on volunteer basis is on hold till December end. Seems many teachers and students got infected and it had to be stopped. We are taking extra classes for doubt clarification and help to struggling students. Our work pressure has increased a bit.

@JudyEv Oh! It is. Since yesterday I am so relaxed and finding some time to enjoy and even be here. She is handling laundry, floor cleaning , watering plants and few more chores around. I am not letting her in kitchen and dining area to ensure social distancing. So I am just left with cooking, dishes and kitchen cleaning. She doesn't do a good ironing and so I don't trust her with that

Yes. When they pop up it reminds you how fast time flies. It's going to be busy till March end here. Glad my help is back with all norms and precautions in place. That saves a lot of my time and energy. And I am relieved.

I paid her salary without using her service since pandemic in March. We were managing well without her. But off late it was getting too tiring for me and now I am calling her for help with chores mainly outdoor ones and those where a social distancing can be managed. Even that much save a lot of my energy.

My cleaning woman called and asked if I want her, yet, but my answer is no way. She is working in other homes with a mask and gloves, but I don't know if she is a carrier. Hubs helps me around the house, and with just the two of us, it is very neat and clean. So your schools run for 6 days a week???

Even I kept giving her the salary but not using her service all these months since March. I did not want her to go through a money crisis. We are not letting her cross the kitchen and dining area. She does help with watering plants, terrace cleaning, hanging clothes in the sun, floor brooming and mopping and cleaning things like a fan, ceiling etc which are out of our reach. We have two floors and we make sure that social distance is there all the time. She comes by her own two-wheeler and not by public bus. SO that is safe. We have a bathroom as soon as you enter the house. She comes and washes there, sanitizes, and changes before coming in for work.. We have given her face shield and mask that she has to take a fresh one every day. Before going back she changes again to her clothes and her outside mask. Well, I badly needed a helping hand. Husband has got increased workload and so do I. Daughters also have a lot going on with their academics and other classes. I take care of cooking and ironing. We share the load of kitchen cleaning and dishes. That's good enough and tiring for me with this increases work demand. Three Saturdays in a month will be working for each teacher. We have to give 2-3 hours on Saturday till March.

With this increased work pressure, I definitely need a helping hand to not loose my sanity. Glad she came from Monday. All precautions are in place. We are strict about cleaning, sanitizing and social distancing. I am keeping kitchen cleaning and dish washing to ourselves restricting her from kitchen and dining area. But she is a big help with so many other chores around saving so much of my time and energy. Well this picture bought a smile on my face. It was a fun session with this energetic and talkative child.

2020 has been a year that upended our plans but we need to catch up especially for the sake of children. We need to make adjustments at the home front too despite the virus having its stranglehold on us and our activities. Good that you still find time for myLotting but this is after all a place to relax. If I am consistent I can make the payout every two months and I am comfortable with that. Good job by a budding artist.

@arunima25 I have memories of children who are now grandparents! A couple of years ago, I met our friends who were our neighbors right after we got married. We were very close to them during the couple of years and then we moved apart. One of the daughters, now settled in the US, could remember how I used to play and entertain them in great detail and that jogged my memory of those days. She was all of seven years old at that time and that was over forty years ago! I understand a few make over a dollar a day here but that would be work for me! I come here to relax anyway. I am in India now and still wary about letting outsiders into our place though at times I cannot help it. This virus does play hide and seek with us and no amount of precautions are too much.

@Shiva49 It's beautiful to go down the memory lane and enjoy the beautiful moments. And yes time flies and we realize it more when we see our babies growing so fast. I too don't want it to become like a work. A dollar a day means a whole day of time and effort. And I would not ignore the offline obligations for that. The real life is not in cyberspace but offline. I am here to relax in free time.

When this picture popped up it refreshed a loving memory of this session with this extra active and talkative child. . I had totally forgotten about it and phew!! It's been four years. He must be so grown now. I earn anything between 3 cents ( that's been my lowest) and $17 ( my highest earnings here) in a monthOn an average I have got minimum payout each month. It's the interaction here with wonderful friends that counts She has come back to work. All precautions are in place and we are too strict about social distancing. I am relieved a lot. Though I am not allowing her enter kitchen and wash dishes, she is a big help with so many chores around the house.
