Grayson Is Making Itself At Home

I still really wish I knew if Grayson is a boy or a girl, and while I could make a determination quite quickly, I really prefer not be that intimate with kitty at this particular moment.
Ahem.
But Grayson (or Gracie) is coming around pretty nicely. Let's just call it a he until I know otherwise, shall we?
He's coming out when we come home, and after we got back from running some errands today, when we called his name he came running. So, I think he is already recognizing who he is.
He likes to be picked up and lets us know he wants to be coming up to our legs and then standing on his hind legs. It's kind of cute actually. Of course we give in and pick him up until he gets finicky and lets us know quite readily he wants to be put back down.
The claws will have to go. We'll have him declawed in about two months from now. No worries, he will be an indoor cat. So no need to protect himself.
As for us, we would prefer to protect the furniture, the carpets, and our BODIES. Those claws are BRUTAL!
I will keep you all posted on Grayson and his progress, and hopefully some of his antics, which I know will be many. He IS a cat, and cats always have something to offer to talk about.
Onward and upward.

Both of mine are declawed on the front, I did not do this, they were like this when I rescued them. But I could not ask for sweeter cats. Their personalities are perfect. And they both use the scratching tree almost as if they have paws. Grayson is beautiful.

I really wish we did not have to make the decision to declaw, but those claws are damaging and brutal. Which is why I choose to go that direction. I actually don't necessarily like the idea of spaying or neutering either...
But with animals you almost have to.
Sneaky had no claws at all and Theus had only his back claws, which was fun since he was a bit skittish, and so if he got spooked while he was sitting on your lap, he would draw blood as he shot up in the air and bounded away. lol
While it is WWWAAAYYY off topic, I was circumcised, and if I had a say, I'd prefer not to be. BUT, things work just fine and I don't think it matters much to me other than I would prefer to NOT have been if I had the choice.

Both of our other cats were declawed. Sneaky fully and Theus in the front, keeping his back claws. I don't think it is an option for me personally. I have told the wife it WILL be declawed. It will also be spayed or neutered.
Both our cats were fine.

@porwest of course it has to be spayed/neutered. No reason to declaw though. Just buy some scratching posts. No vets fully declaw any longer. Only front which I still believe is inhumane. I have 2 scratching posts here and all 3 of my cats including the kitten use them regularly. it is an instinct.

Looks like you are really hoping the cat is a he. I would not want to get that intimate with a cat either. Can you tell if it's a he or a she if the cat positions itself belly up? If the cat claws at you and scratches to the point of blood that is not good. Hopefully, this one won't do that and you can just trim the nails instead of declawing them...

I can see the weapons in the picture. Unless you want to rent him out as a phlebotomist, declawing is probably the best option.

So you had to get a car to have some topic ideas not that the election is over, huh? That's a funny thought.
Maybe the vet will too you off without you having to ask.

Oh, let me tell you. Biden will provide for quite the array of topics. This thing is only getting started.
I can't wait to write about that Senate seat he won during the presidential campaign in his upcoming inauguration speech.
But yes, the cat posts should help to offer something to those less politically inclined. lol

The one cat that is interesting since he likes to stay outside for a period of time is Burt. My nephew named him in memory of actor Burt Reynolds.

He's a beauty! And Grayson seems an apt name for a creature of undetermined gender (the only other Grayson I know of is the transvestite ceramic artist Grayson Perry:
De-clawing cats is illegal over here. Hopefully it isn't as bad as I imagine; makes me wince just to think of it.
