It Takes The Autumn Months To Get A Spring In My Step

After a stifling summer with record setting heat and, oh yes, the humidity, the autumn season is always a welcome change.
My husband and I have been completing project after project around the house. This is usually the time of year when we get our big jobs done.
What kind of jobs or projects have you been doing lately?

I love clearing things out and hauling them off. Normally we don't accumulate too much stuff but there are those times when things begin to build up.
Cleaning up makes it easier for me to breathe.

@crazyhorseladycx Oh boy, I'll say it's a battle. It almost sounds like one of those, one step forward two steps back kind of things.
It does require some teamwork to get the desired results. Either that or you may have to entertain the thought of building a few more large barns to accommodate hubs.
I wish you the best. I'm sure it will work out for you soon.

@betlynfrnds amen to that! 'nfortunately the hubs 'tis a hoarder 'n piles schtuff e'erywhere. he took o'er 3 garages, my big hay barn, most 'f the drive, 2 horse trailers, the flatbed 'n mamaw's lil house...not to mention all 'that' which's strewn 'cross the yards 'n portions 'f pasture.
i'm regainin', slowly but surely. 'tis been a battle thus far.

Now that it's a bit overcast, drizzly and cool, I think inside projects would be a great idea here as well.

Autumn is a time of year when everything one sees seems poetic. Conducive too, as you say, to projects in the home.
My home is old and needs major repair. Couldn't attend to the maintenance yet because of the pandemic.

I truly understand. This pandemic has changed the way we live and conduct our lives.
I also understand how autumn is typically a time to spruce things up around the house. Not to mention spring cleaning of course.

@betlynfrnds Grateful my daughter tidied up our house, sort of making everything squeaky clean when she came home from London. We just have to put up a few decoration like the indoor plants in vases - for the necessary oxygen.
Please tell more about your house project.

Spring cleaning is always nice too. Autumn, Spring, whenever the weather is not so extreme; then I can think clearly about what needs to be done and not be distracted by weather.

Not as n many as I've been laid up but I am trying to get some deeper cleaning done when I'm up to it. I'm trying to do something every day now that the ulcers on my foot are healing up.
Yesterday I got my kitchen and bathroom floors washed today I hope to use the vacuum to clean out we've in cornered and rearrange the room as I go.

@MarshaMusselman Aww, I hope you get to feeling better soon. Do your best without overdoing.
Sometimes it's the kitchen and bathroom that need the most attention. It sounds like you have control over those rooms. Good job.

@FayeHazel Winter has a mind of it's own in your area. I see the weather report almost every day so I have a good idea of what you are experiencing. I used to live in the north. I do miss the snow but not the severity and harshness of the winter months.

@betlynfrnds Ah no, I'm in Minnesota... that's why I ask. lol. Around here it's been "winter" for awhile, even though technically winter starts in a couple of weeks

That sounds like a project within a project. I hope you're enjoying myLot and your novel. And yes, I suppose I hope you're enjoying work as well.

That's how we do it. When the summer heat comes, we pace ourselves much more so than other times when it's cooler.

We are doing that as well. It's funny that you mention this; I had some clothes that I was planning to donate to the Humane Society. I laid them out on the back of the living room couch. One of our kitties took over the pile and made it her own. LOL

It's good that you stayed ahead of your jobs. Planning ahead is always helpful.
Are you having any snow yet? I love the snow; I just don't like when it gets so overwhelming.

Hello Dianne; thank you. I missed everyone too. I took a little time off and am very happy to be back. Hope you and the family are doing well.
By the way, what is a Trex deck?

@betlynfrnds I’m so happy you plan on being here again. We are all fine and stayed covid free so far. Knock on wood. I hope the same is true for you.
A Trex deck is fabricated wood and is guaranteed to last long after we are long gone. We also used another company called Asek for the railings, which I liked better. Including a tiny photo.

Awwww, hopefully after you have finished, you were able to take a break, look at your lawn and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

@YrNemo That is great. I love it when my cats don't mind the house being a little untidy. No need for you to rush the backyard. It will still be there when you're ready to handle it.

@betlynfrnds I still have one here (the backyard), but the cats and no one complain about it so far, so I won't touch it for another few weeks .
