Still pregnant.. for now

The past two days I have been having such a hard time sleeping.
I was so excited about the pregnancy and thinking of ways to tell my husband. I also usually sleep on my belly and I don’t want to hurt the baby so I am laying on my side and my back and I hate it.
At 8pm I took another test. It said to add three drops and I had only done two the night before. Within 50 seconds I could see the second line appearing and it got slightly darker over the next two minutes to what you see in the photo. Not as dark as other test lives I’m used to but it’s not a morning sample it’s after drinking all day sob the urine is more diluted I figure.
So after dinner my husband and I went up in my room and I gave him his little surprise. Elephants are his favorite animal so I went to the store and bought animal crackers and separated the elephants into a baggie and made a note card to go with it saying “We are going to have a little calf of our own” and my due date.
He was very happy. We “celebrated” and then I saw blood on the sheets and on him.
I assume I’m not going to carry this baby to full term but I’m going to hope I do. If I do miscarry better now then a few months down the road.
I’ll take another test in a few more days. I need to pick up some more Wednesday. The next text I do it will be in the morning when the results will easier to see.

Sleeping on your stomach should be okay in the early months. You can always check with your Dr once you see him about the possibly pregnancy.

@MarshaMusselman my daughter had external tibial torsion. I wonder if it was due to when I was pregnant even far along I’d wake up on my stomach. So I’d rather not sleep then chance this baby having it too.

@MarshaMusselman from what I read back then it’s caused by the baby not having enough room in the room. My belly was so small with her and hard. It didn’t seem to want to stretch.

@shaggin maybe partially sleeping on a pillow would help so your belly is hanging and not pushing against the bed or pillow but so your mind might feel it's on your stomach.

Lightly bleeding at the beginning I've heard isn't bad. Neither is slight cramps (in case you feel those soon too) It's if the period gets heavy, or you cramp reallyyy bad. Just take it easy and call your dr, to make the appointment to confirm and let them know whats going on so far with the blood and then obviously let them know if it gets worse.
congrats! Again. Lol.

@Courtlynn I did have spotting in the beginning with my daughter but never had blood like this. I do feel cramps off and on that I don’t like and makes me worry. It just feels like the cysts on my ovaries bothering me though so I wasn’t too worried but the blood during celebrating worries me. I skipped the dishes tonight to rest. I won’t bother going to the doctor though there’s nothing they can do. I’ll take a test again in a few days and hope I don’t bleed anymore and won’t do any more celebrating for a bit

@courtlynn remember how I said I have been really worried it’s an ectopic pregnancy well I was looking up reasons bleeding could happen during our “celebration” and this is some reasons. The rest of the site was more reassuring though.

@shaggin . Fingers crossed its not that. Id at least call the dr just to keep them up to date with it and schedule a blood test and the first appointment to check you out which they usually dont schedule for a few weeks from when you call anyways

@GardenGerty I’m nervous if I catch corona how sick I will become with a weakend immune system from being pregnant. I know I’ve been getting light headed and feel like it’s harder to breathe often like when my iron gets low but I’m taking my pills and multivitamin each day. I have to pick up prenatal Wednesday too.

@MarshaMusselman I had always heard that being pregnant lowers our immune system. I’ll have to look up maybe it’s not true.

@shaggin being pregnant shouldn't make your immune system questionable. Not eating right might.
I'm still dizzy too but I'm sure it's either fluid in my inner ear or wax in my ears.

You should be okay! These test don’t pick up till your close to 6 weeks and one. Most miss carry with in the first 9 weeks. I never really made it to term. I have a 34 weeker, 36 weeker and I have an early full term that was 38 weeks. I can’t do a full 40 weeks my body is not build to hold that far.
You can sleep on your stomach. Sleep position won’t hurt the baby although as you get bigger it’s much harder to sleep on your stomach but sides is better then. There is a water sake that protect the baby so they are pretty safe in there.

@ShyBear88 I was two weeks early with my son due to a uti. I have issues with chronic Utis so I’m not looking forward to them again the entire pregnancy. I should take a cranberry + D-mannose pill daily that might help ward them off.
I kept track of my periods and the days we did anything so I’m still pretty early. My fertile days were the first week of November.
I used to wake up in the night on my belly with my daughter and she had external tibial torsion so I worry it could be from that.
Oh and when you said most miscarry within the first 9 weeks.. that’s why we are waiting three months to tell anyone

@ShyBear88 I always thought I was further along then the doctors said so my son may have come right on time but the darn uti put me into labor. That was so painful to push him out and every contraction with it throbbing with pain down there from the uti.
3 of 4 of my sisters kids are pigeon toed.

@shaggin 2 weeks early is normal that early term abs not really consider by doctors as earlier since pregnancy can be off by 2 weeks. I got lists of test infection with my first two. It go so bad with my second pregnancy I stopped wearing panties at night. Spend a nice 4 weeks in antipartium because someone wanted to escape 8 weeks early but didn’t.
Most women do wait till 10-12 weeks before telling family abs friends because then they are in the second trimester. First trimester is short but the other two seem like forever.
The way you sleep has nothing to do with a baby from and stuff. They got water all around them. I’m a stomach sleeper and only my middle child has piegont toes which is genetic. Spend all of my pregnancy with that boys feet turned inwards once born they did an ultrasound sound on his feet to determine why. Just the luck of the genetic.

I bleed about four months into my pregnancy and it was pretty heavy. The doctor told me to rest and take it easy and then the bleeding stopped. My son is 27 now. I wish you good luck

@Tampa_girl7 wow that’s much longer then I’ve heard others say. I know my sister bled heavy when she was less then 3 months. She found out she had placenta previa. Her baby went to full term and is a health 16 year old now. My stepsons mother had the same thing.

@Cheyee at the end of my pregnancy with my son when I still had a month to go they were worried I was going to go into labor with him so I had to take some kind of mineral each day. He was born two weeks early. But this early in the pregnancy they don’t even accept patients.

Oh goodness, if it is more bleeding than spotting , it's a miscarriage. I know from experience.

@LeaPea2417 it looked like a bit more then spotting but stopped right after and I haven't bled any today. So the baby is still hanging in there. I'm laying down relaxing now after babysitting my niece and nephew today.

@DianneN my daughter was born with external tibial tortion and even when I was pretty far along I would wake up on my stomach so I’m worried about it.
In 5 weeks when I can go to an ob I’ll go to the doctor. A faint line still means pregnant and I haven’t had any more bleeding. If I miscarried it would be bleeding heavy like a period I think.

@shaggin I'm not familiar with external tibial tortion and will look it up. You know best.
So glad you aren't bleeding anymore. Sounds much better. I spotted with my first son for a day or two. I would think a miscarriage would happen a bit later, but hope everything goes smoothly with you.

How wonderful. Hopefully that will be the only spotting you see and this pregnancy will carry through to the end. I spotted every month for the first three months for my third pregnancy. I am happy to say that my third daughter is an adult now with two boys of her own.

@CarolDM thank you very much! My husband thought I already knew it was a girl based on the ribbon colors but I said that’s all I had. I could have waited and done blue and pink ribbon but I was to excited to tell him which was making it impossible for me to sleep. I do think it’s a girl though but we will see in a few months.

Just because you bled doesn't mean you've lost the baby. However, you should really go to your doctor and get a blood test. If you want to know for sure, you're still pregnant.

@kaylachan If I lose the baby I’ll have a heavy period soon. If not I’ll take another urine test in a few days and see if it still shows positive. Ive had light cramps now and then for a week so I am thinking I’m going to have trouble carrying this baby full term but time will tell. My sister and my stepsons mother had placenta previa I think it was called and both babies were full term so bleeding doesnt always mean a miscarriage like you said but I’m nervous.

@shaggin First of all, you misunderstood me. I never said blood a sign of fetal loss. I just suggested you talk to your doctor about getting a blood pregnancy test, to conf irm pregnancy. Not rely on the store-bought at-home tests.

@kaylachan no I got what you meant maybe how I wrote it isn’t correct with grammar. I’m terrible at grammar. I was agreeing that I might not have miscarried. I can’t go to the doctor as my husband said the insurance won’t cover me if it’s a pre-existing thing and I still need to switch to his insurance.
