Tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day. No family here to cook for but we will have a good dinner just the same.
Decided to go ahead and cook the sweet potato casserole today. One less thing to do tomorrow.
The way I cook mine is on the sweet side. It is more like a dessert. Southern style. I add brown sugar, marshmallows, and pecans. Very good.
Not my photo. Mine is still cooking.

I add brown sugar and marshmallows too, not pecans though. I hope you have a nice Thanksgiving tomorrow with your husband.
I wasn't planning on Thanksgiving, but my son and grandson will be here tomorrow to take care of the living room. I found a 2-pound package of hamburger in the freezer. I'm making sloppy joes. A very un-Thanksgiving meal.

My mom never made this, but on my husband's side it is a must have for Thanksgiving. He said he will make this tomorrow . Oh, pecans . . . I don't think my late FIL put them in there . . . that would balance out the sweet . . . I will suggest this to Hubby!

Sounds quite interesting. We have a "Potato Halwa" - mashed sweet potatoes on some Fasts.
Yet we tried and ate it otherwise as well.
I hope that you enjoy eating the dish you decided to cook.

My favorite thing for Thanksgiving, next to Pecan Pie.

@CarolDM Ours sound real similar to yours. We mix the mashed sweet potatoes with milk, butter, brown sugar, and eggs, then top with pecans, butter, and brown sugar.
