Why go to a dentist when a dental technician can do it at a cheaper price

I overheard a group of mothers discussing the prices of braces, false-teeth and etc...
In our place, and probably in some other places, some dental technicians do things like measure and install false teeth, braces, and even pull out teeth. Which I know are way beyond their license allow as a dental technician.
But many people, especially those who are earning below their means, prefer to go to these technicians because they charge much lower.
I wanted to but-in but decided not to. There is nothing I would say that could make them change their reasonings anyway. Especially, when I heard that someone said that "at least they are not selling drugs".
and someone responded that there are many of them doing it anyway.
Would you prefer to go to a dental technician?

Those technicians must be reported. What they are doing is dangerous to the health. Could even be fatal.

@eileenleyva I think that technician they were talking about was reported.

that is true. Sure, they know how to make false teeth and braces, that's their job. But installing them and even pulling out teeth are not part of their licenses. And if ever an infection occurs, they are not authorized to prescribe any medicines.

Well, we can sue the technicians and have their licenses revoked, and even file criminal charges for malpractice (I think). But the patient will end up spending more to repair the damage that has been done.

@jrlcentral but we know it's not their specialty, technically it's our fault

@Cheyee True. some people tend to go to them because of the lower charges. They reason out that the dentist would go to them to make the dentures anyway... not knowing or simply ignoring the fact that the risk of getting an infection and other complication is much higher.

yup... the problem is when complications arise, where do they run to?

@jrlcentral true. In the end, it will cost them more

Actually, it's supposed to be dentists only. These technicians have no right to deal with patients.
