Hello, friends. Long time since I been here. Lately, I became interested in networking and computers and yesterday I tried to ping and trace the route to mylot.com but the computer was unable to do it. Is there any IT person here that knows why that is?
If you want to ping any server or site all you have to do is open the command prompt of the operating system and type "ping ---------" where "--------" stands for the name of the site or the IP address of that site.
For example, if you want to ping mylot server you can simply type in "ping mylot.com" in a command prompt. I am curious if any of you is able to ping it, meaning to receive an answer to the ping command from the site.
Perhaps the people who created this site might know why I am unable to ping it.
Do you ever play with networking?

Just a question, why do we have to ping myLot? What will it do afterwards? Just curious.

We don’t have to do it. This is more for IT guys to be able to see if there is good connectivity between two points in the world. Apparently, on the way from my computer to mylot server something weird happens and my ping request does not reach mylot server. It really does not help the regular users with anything but I just want to understand what is going on
