Green Dogs

2020 has been the strangest and worst year we have had in a long time. It has also been a strange year for animals and I am not sure what that says about how things will be int he future. In Sardinia an Italian island a farmer was glad when his mixed-breed dog gave birth to five puppies. Then he noticed that one of the puppies was green and named him Pistachio. All of his brothers and sisters had white fur. The rare green fur was caused by a green pigment known as biliverdin. It was all the rage on social media until the color started to fade as the dog grew. But can you imagine if more animals start to be born in unusual shades? Talk about your horse of different color.
The puppy was part of a five-dog litter born at a farm on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia.

Interesting color for a puppy to have. First time to see one and too bad he lost the color as he grew up. He could be a celebrity in their place being one unique dog in that place.

Caught Pistachio on the news, too. Fascinating. As fascinating as Rockefeller the owl on the giant Christmas tree. I ain't got a horse but surely I'd love a litter of puppies in all colors. Unimaginative me would simply name them Red, Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange, Indigo and Violet. My mother had named our doggies in the past Whitey, Blackie, Brownie. Sigh. Color change will do me crazy and good.

Oh that's cute. I thought it was a sheep. I hope it doesn't have health problems.
