So They Tell Me 'You Can Earn Twice as Many Points using Microsoft Edge,' but ...

Microsoft Rewards rescues Edge Surfers ... 'Hooray!'

... is that just 'if I use it *on Mobile*'? My brother (an up-and-coming technology-operator) sent me the desktop-computer I'm using, preloaded with both the Google Chrome- and Microsoft Edge-browsers (I guess they were both still 'at risk of falling out of use'). I've been mostly using Google Chrome; but I've also been doing Microsoft Rewards (a.k.a. Bing Rewards)---a program that gives you "points" for 'using the Microsoft Rewards dashboard as your browser's homepage' and 'clicking their links there' & 'doing searches on Bing.' Well, that dashboard led me recently to Microsoft's promotion-page that says that--if I use Edge 'in a certain way'--I'll "Earn points for every hour of active browsing ... up to 30 hours a month." ComputerWorld says 'the certain way' is "having the Bing search engine as the browser's default; and doing 'active browsing,' which Microsoft defined as meeting two conditions: Edge had to be the highlighted icon in the taskbar -- meaning it was the only app in focus on the desktop -- and the user had to be "engaged with the browser" via clicking, mouse movements or watching full-screen video." https://www.computerworld.com/article/3108800/microsofts-new-plan-to-save-edge-reward-points.html So I'll use Edge to do my searching; I'll still use Chrome to do my Facebooking & Tweeting & BlogSpotting & MyLotting, because of all the blocker-settings and password-settings I have on it.

Microsoft Rewards is not available in this country or region. Sorry, Microsoft Rewards is currently only available in the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Republic of Ireland, Brazil, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Belgium, Hong Kong SAR, Japan, Mexico and Taiwan. Sadly above mentioned rewards are not available for my country.

It has been available in India before being available in France. The Rewards are gift cards different from a country to another. France had only two, but since a few months we have a large choice. This said, the max you can get here is about $60/year, and I never reached that.
In an effort to expand the support for Bing Rewards to more regions, Microsoft has recently brought some limited support for the program out to the people living in India.

I don't know for USA, but in France you get only a 12 points bonus everyday by using Edge. This said on a smartphone it is now possibly the best browser available, synchronizing your searches and favorites with your laptop.
