Nothing is Private

We think our text messages are private, our online chats. But truth is a screenshot can be taken and shared to social media sites and all over internet. And everyone would know about that "private" message.
I also heard that experts from investigation agencies can identify an anonymous post even from an internet cafe.
We better be careful.

Rule of thumb, if you don't want it out there, don't post it. "privacy settings" provide a false sense of security so people will use their computers, laptops or mobile phones. I find it laughable that some people believe you can't be tracked if you don't allow GPS to run on your apps. uh.... as long as your phone is " on " you can be tracked. Cell phones couldn't work if they weren't constantly sending and receiving information from towers.

Wow that is enlightening. If you are on the run, I guess you cant have a cellphone or what they call be off grid.

@yoalldudes Yeah. People often get burrner phones, that allow for emergency use, but once the minutes are gone, it's useless. But, yeah. You can't have any technology if you don't want to be tracked.

@kaylachan I've seen this in the movie Zipper if I recalled right. He is cheating on his wife and had to buy this kind of phone.

@yoalldudes true.
There really isn't any privacy anymore unless you go off-grid.

Yes even in private chats. They can easily make a screenshot and share.

Now we have to be careful what we say in our messages. Some people also like to expose one another for sport.

This is dangerous for teenagers. I wonder if bullying has become more rampant because of this.

Good observation and yet people just don't believe how easily they are tracked. Not that anyone is truly interested in most of us. Like your first responder says, if you don't want it our there, don't post it.

Even if I am in a private chat with a friend, I am careful not to type anything that I wouldnt want someone else to know. Whatever I write is something that I will be fine being known in public.

Yes, even without CCTV. Just IP address etc and other technical stuff. There was a case of a friend where the offender was traced even he posted anonymous and from an internet cafe.
