She comes forth as the morning rising. She is fair as the moon, bright as the sun. She is terrible as an army that is set in battle array. (from the Catena Legiones of the Legion of Mary) History has it the eradication of the Aztec was attributed as Her handiwork. So was the victory in the Battle of Lepanto. And definitely, the revolution at EDSA in my own country would not have been won without the Rosary. She appears to peasants and children. She was impoverished as well and much a Child Herself when She became the Handmaid of the Lord. Today we celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Four times in 1531 did She appear to a peasant named Juan Diego, to ask him for assistance so a church could be built there. But Juan Diego was wary, his uncle was ailing, and for a peasant like him, it was difficult to have audience with the archbishop. So the beautiful Lady appeared also to the sick uncle, and bestowed healing. As for the archbishop to believe, She did bequeath Her Magnificent Image imprinted in Juan Diego's tilma, made from the roses he gathered from a mountain on a December day. The Handmaid continues to assist us, long after Her Son has ascended to heaven. If there is a miracle somewhere, more likely, it is Her handiwork.

@eileenleyva I'm glad you agree it's not the virgin Mary that performs miracles.

@sharonelton Of course. But God was incarnate through the Virgin Mary, that even God needed Her to perform His greatest miracle of salvation.

@eileenleyva Mary did not perform the miracle. The Holy Spirit did that.

Being a Bicolano we’re very much Marian in professing our faith in our province. I have deep devotion on her as She is our patroness for our province.

True. Our Lady has come to bring glad tidings to the pure of hearts - peasants, country folks such as farmers and fishermen, the ordinary people - via the vespers, the processions, the devotions in our barriotic communities. Your kababayan Jesse Robredo was a grateful recipient of that glad tiding. He went barefoot in the presence of our Lady.

@eileenleyva Oh yeah you reminded me of him. He is a great leader in our place. Very unassuming person that you would not think he is the Mayor of our city. He will always greet you when you meet him and always talk to anyone in the streets if you come to meet him. He always remembers almost everyone in the city. My father was amaze by this when they met in some occasions and every time they meet anywhere in the city He still remembers my father and greets him before. Just sad that he was taken very early and was not given longer life to serve the country. He is an ardent follower of our Lady too.

True. That is why we invoke the intercession of our Lady, and the saints, because our Lord Jesus is weak when the pure of hearts ask for mercy for us.
