I definitely can stay in bed late tomorrow. It is Saturday.
We have one more week of school before our Christmas or winter break. I do not think it will get any less hectic or stressful.
Our state Board of Education says that it is better for kids to be in school and social distance and even isolate within their groups than it is for them to try to stay at home. That kids generally do not get very sick. It does not take into account how sick teacher may become and the shortage of substitutes.
I will do Christmas themed things this weekend for sure.
Good night, all.

That is what I think about. There are kids that do get pretty sick.

Well, they are going to be very low key, and very little contact here. No parents allowed in.

'tis very odd how so many're not concerned with the young'uns catchin'/spreadin' such like wildfire. 's ya say, they don't typically get sick, most oft asymptomatic. but, there's worry they're likely to develop illness 10-15 yrs down the road from such. which 'tis scary 's heck. please do stay safe, hon.
i reckon the board figures those young'uns mental health, ability to keep'n eye'n 'em, make sure they've 't least one good meal a day 'tis worth the risk?

Even kids who are learning remotely can pick up a simple breakfast and lunch daily--or their parents can. There is a grant right now that pays for all students who want it to have it. I think it is a mental health thing. In my opinion teachers rely on computer based lessons too much anyway, at least the fourth grade does. Making them learn from home makes it worse. I had not heard that later they may have a recurrence, but it would not surprise me. Just like if you have chicken pox, in later years you are at risk for shingles.

@crazyhorseladycx I was told shingles can go to your heart and cause damage. That is what finally swayed me to get the shots.

@GardenGerty that's wonderful, hon. i know that many places opened jest to keep such fundin'. 'twas a decision those school leaders wished not to've to make. the federal government should not'a forced such.
shingles'll most likely not kill ya 'r cause long-term health issues. cardiomyopathy 'n others which're 'nknown can mean a lifetime 'f health hiccups.

They really don't consider the teachers and stuff when they want kids at school.
