2020 Enough Already

A cheerful sunflower

2020 has been a challenging year, to say the least. In fact, I could use much sterner language to describe it. In Australia, it started off with terrible bushfires following a record drought, then we got the news that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) was spreading across the world. We all know what has followed since with lockdowns, social distancing, illness and deaths. We have been quite fortunate in this country, but not so many others. I hoped things would improve as the year wound down so we could go into 2021 with a much more positive attitude. Unfortunately in the last month we have had to have our old Maltese Terrier put down due to kidney failure. That was followed by the car breaking down and needing towing and repairs. Now, our son and his family have just found out the house they have been renting for four years has been sold and they need to find somewhere else to move to. Well, that isn't so easy when it is almost Christmas, rental demand outstrips supply, and you have five children. Anyway, that is three bad things, so hopefully, that's it. Got to stay positive. Merry Christmas, stay safe, and bring on the New Year.

Or a lower expectation so it doesn’t disappoint.

How much notice do you have to give in Australia before selling a house with a sitting tenant?

I do hope everything works out for the best for your son and his family. And I’m so sorry about your dog. I know how heartbreaking that is. Everything bad seems to come in threes.

Yes, we all have. Eleven months pass, saddened by illnesses and loss of lives (covid and non-covid)-- we have done quite well and resilient in such hard times. I wish for your son and his family find a place they'd call home and settle in.

Thank you Mrs. Josh Wonder. I am fortunate to live where I do. I am sure they will find a place and hopefully an even better one.

Sounds like it's been a rough year. At least you can be thankful for being in Australia. rather than in some of those countries where thousands are dying of Covid.
