Charley Pride Has Died From COVID

County legend Charley Pride has died at age 86 following complications from COVID-19. Charley was known for his rich baritone voice. He became the country's first Black superstar and first Black member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. “No person of color had ever done what he has done,” Darius Rucker said earlier in the PBS documentary "Charley Pride: I'm Just Me." Charley's last performance was on November 11, 2020. He sang "Kiss An Angel Good Morning" during the CMA Awards in Nashville.

How sad, one thing you can say about covid, it does not discriminate, why whole society mess is bs. Should be a teaching moment but as always they will exploit it to further their greedy interests.

What a great singer her was! Loved him so much. Even got to meet him briefly in 1996. Gracious gentleman, of course. Country music has lost a true icon.

I remember reading that he had played some minor league baseball beore becoming a Country music superstar. I'll have to fact-check that. He had a great voice.
