In 1963 The Beatles were at number one on the UK singles chart with 'I Want To Hold Your Hand'. It was also their first US number one hit. In 1965 The Beatles came out with their album Rubber Soul and it was the second album to contain only original material. The album stayed on the UK album chart for 42 weeks. In 1970 Smokey Robinson had a number one hit with "Tears Of a Clown" and the song stayed in the top spot for two weeks, The song was composed in 1966 by Stevie Wonder and Smokie Robinson wrote the lyrics. In 1981 The Human League had their only number-one single in the UK "Don't You Want Me." In 1987 George Michael had a number one hit with "Faith." The song stayed at the top position on the charts for four weeks. And in 1988 it became the top-selling single of the year in the US. In 1992 Whitney Houston album The Bodyguard rose up to number one in the US and stayed at that position for twenty weeks. It became the best selling sountrack album of all time, In 2003 Mick Jagger got knighted by Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace. The ceremony included Jagger's 92-year-old father. During The Beatles popularity days, John Lennon had given a copy of his bood "A Spaniard In the Works" along with a lock of his hair to The Beatle's hairdresser. In 2007 this copy of the book along with his hair sold at Gorringes Auction House for $48,0000. The book was autographed. In 2008 the town where Mick Jagger and Keith Richards grew up gave the streets in Dartford, Kent near a new estate the names of The Rolling Stones hits like Angie Mews, Babylon Close, Sympathy Street, Little Red Walk and Satisfaction Street.
