A month long wait is over.....

Good morning Monday from this side of the mylot corner. It's 9:20 AM and I am done with the classes for the day. I took a High school Maths class from 7:30 - 8:30 and then one to one session with one special child for another half an hour. So all done for the classes for the day.
But it's not over for the work at school. Well, exams start from today for the 10 grade children. It's pre- board 1 before the Christmas holiday and as soon as the school starts in January , we will conduct pre-board 2. For those not aware, 10 grade students in our country appear for a national level exam called Board examination and it starts at the end of February. These pre board exams are like preparation for that final exam.
The exam starts at 10AM and so I have another 30 minutes and it will be for 3 hours. And for these three hours, I have to just be there and observe these children. I have 10 students to watch for. I will be on mute and my video will be off. I will be a mute spectator and I am there only to see that these students don't flaunt any rules of exam and if some one has a concern, he/she can raise hands and I need to address that concern. Also I need to make sure that all answer sheets are scanned and uploaded properly.
So in those 3 hours, I will see if I can peep in here.
All chores and cooking done till lunch. Right now I am sitting in sun and soaking some sunlight in this pleasant weather. Though we had rain and drizzle in night, we woke up to the fourth sunny day in a row.
And I spotted this beautiful orchid bloom in my garden this morning. The plant has been with me for almost an year and I saw the buds in November. And now after a month long wait one of them bloomed
Have a good time. Happy mymotting

Compared to a day full of classes, this one is lighter and yes it does get boring being a mute invigilator. It's mid December now and now winter will get to peak in next 30 days. Stay warm.

@Butterfingers Your profile doesn't mention your location in India. But if you are in North India, chilling days are ahead. Stay safe and warm.

@arunima25 Yes there is advantages with the lock down in some way. In Delhi too air become pure during the time of lock down. The weather was so pleasant in April. I don't know whether to say thanks to this pandemic. One thing is sure, this virus taught lot of lessons to people.

You are right. It has come with own sets of challenges. But my knees and feet are thankful. I am not driving since March. Only few times I have taken car out in last 7 months. My health has improved. Bangalore traffic was causing a lot of stress.

@Sreekala I agree there. A lot we learnt in this crisis. Hope we don't forget it. Human beings tend to forget valuable lessons and go back to their usual once things get back to normal.

CBSE exam will held at one time in whole country. Online classes and exam is possible in schools which are affilated with CBSE because these schools are high profile and also in cities. Here in state government schools study system is fully disturbed. Although here also online classes are working but here more than 65% students have not smart mobile phones. Government is also doing nonsense things. Here government order to teachers to visit home to home to give home work to students, It is not easy

That's definitely not a feasible thing to do. I know it is very tough for government schools. My maids son had no smartphone. My husband gave an old set of his for his classes. Glad it came to his use. Many people in our apartment donated their old smartphone to these needy children. Government has taken a illogical decision. It's actually harassment of teachers.

This is my first success with Orchids. All these years the plant used to die without buds and blooms. Hope this one stays on. This online exam module makes invigilation a very boring work. Glad I can come here in between or else I would have dozed off.

Your orchid is beautiful. Is all of your schooling remoter right now. Ours is not and our state Board of Education feels it is healthier for elementary levels of kids be in school. That is children under about age eleven or twelve.

This first bloom of orchid in my garden made my day.
We started with physical school for a week on voluntary basis but then many cases were reported from schools infecting a lot of students and teachers from school. Government took back that decision and now we are back to remote classes. It was only for High school. Schools never opened for younger children since pandemic.

Glad that you liked the orchids. This one is my first successful attempt with orchids after several failures in past.
I have experience of working with 2.5 to 16 years. This is my first time working with a regular High school class. I always worked with differently-abled children or the challenging ones. I worked in inclusive Montessori environment as my first job as educator. I made a lateral shift in my career after my daughters were born...From corporate to education.
