What Are You Doing Here?

Don't come back in here! When you leave, you can't come back in! This is what a sales clerk told me when I was doing a mystery shopping job for t mobile. I told him he wasn't security and he better not touch me! There was one question I forgot to answer. And one more thing I had to see was present in the store. I said you can call the police and he did!! I found out what I needed just in time! I left and decided not to go on further talking with him. I tell you, mystery shopping isn't easy as it seems. Being under cover is a hard skill to master. Has anyone tried mystery shopping? Were you ever asked what are you doing here?!

That is interesting, because of covid or they just do not like mystery shoppers? They are not supposed to know of mystery so thinking maybe covid. I have had some weird comments from clerks because of covid. I was like that was rude as hell.

@db20747 No, but looked into it, I could never find one I trusted. I do know how it works for most part . I am sure doing it is probably way different than even if it is explained,. and even so if people do figure it out, its really for their benefit keeps you employed fool by making your place better.

Yes, I mystery shop. I make sure I follow all the store rules for Covid, etc I do go back in if I need to. Regular customers go back in, so can't understand why that was a problem. Once an employee asked me why I was taking a picture. Luckily it was a revealed audit so I could explain what I was doing and had a letter to present. I sign in at customer service for that job. But the employee followed me around eying me suspiciously the whole time

@db20747 I like the audits, with a clipboard and a checklist. Don't need my memory!

A letter makes things so much simpler, don't have to worry about people following asking what are you doing!

I never tried mystery shopping. I'm not sure if it is available to people from my place. But I think it is an interesting task. I wish you more success in your career.

Thank you. It can be a fun job. But you have to practice how to not get noticed

No, I never tried mystery shopping, being under cover in a place with 4,000 people it's a bit hard I suppose.

A big store is a little easier than a small store

I did mystery shopping for a while on just about every app and mystery shopping company there is. Also did the evaluations where you go in the store and just start taking pictures everywhere. When I was questioned rudely, I just revealed that I was an auditor/mystery shopper. Most of the time, the business would just leave me alone. If I had been in that situation, I would have informed the clerk exactly why I was there and addressed them by name to ensure they realize they would be included in the report, even if the assignment said not to. Then, proceeded about my business.

I have never been, but it sounds interesting. But I am quite shy, so I do not think I'll be good at it.
