Babies in the snow

This morning my daughter sent a picture of her two little ones and her hubby out in the snow. He was pulling them around on a sled in their yard in New Jersey. I have such fond memories of doing the same with my girls when they were little. They loved the snow. Bella seems to love the adventure while Anthony is a little unsure of what he thinks about it all. This picture brought back so many wonderful memories of all the fun we used to have in the snow.

I can only gaze with envy at the beautiful pictures of people playing in the snow. As a lifelong Floridian, snow has only been a pipe dream for me. Interestingly, we are having an unusually cold winter this year, something that hasn't happened since 2011/2012. I'm excited that our Christmas Day forecast calls for overnight lows below freezing. That never happens on Christmas here. I'm so excited, although there won't be any chance of snow whatsoever.

@HazySue I love the cold weather too, which is why I'm excited we're finally going to have a cold Christmas. Usually it doesn't get this cold until late January and February each year. So I'm not complaining at all!

@HazySue The garden of one of our neighbors is on a hill, their kids loved to go down with a sleight when it snowed.

Why is it kids love snow? I remember when I was about 7 or so, we were in Germany then and it snowed so some kid on that base talked us into trying to make snow angels. Boy did I get in trouble when I went back indoors with the back of my coat all wet. Mom wasn't happy about that at all.

That makes sense @HazySue I don't have kids so I couldn't say and by the time I was in puberty dad was stationed here where snow is rare .... so is rain for that matter.

aw, how sweet! back'n the day, when such snowed 'n the young'uns small, i'd pull 'em 'round. lots 'f snowmen 'n snow angels made. so, thanks fer those memories, too.

I used to love to go out in the snow with my girls. We would make snow angels and snowmen and I would pull them across the snow.

Cherish that photo! Growing up, I loved, loved the snow for skating, tobogganing, cross country skiing, and shoveling snow, yes, I said "shoveling", Now, that I am older and can no longer do any of these things, I don't like the snow so much,
