Christmas for Us

We don’t celebrate Christmas, but our younger son’s French girlfriend does. She gets so excited that she can’t keep still.
That’s our son’s fireplace loaded with gifts ~ all for her! I have one to add to the pile.
She has gifts for us, too, and several for our son.
What an expensive time of year. We just finished Hanukkah and now Christmas.
So glad we can spread cheer around year round and not just on one day. My husband, my sons, my daughter-in-law, my grandchildren, and I give generously year round. We donate to the needy, to our favorite charities, to animal organizations, to medical research, food, toys, and hospitals in our states, our country, and in foreign countries where help is so needed.
That’s what we do. And not just during Christmas. I hope you do, too in any way you can.

@Tampa_girl7 It must have been ultra classy knowing your mother. The gf and her mother are very classy, too.

I try to give and help out whenever I can. Seems this time of year is when people give most. If they would help out year round it would be more helpful to the organizations in need.
I did help out a family in need last month. She was happy to get the items I found for her. Have also been helping out with fundraisers for people who are in ill health. Spreading a little cheer here and there, when I can.

This was uplifting Dianne and I totally agree, that giving isn't a once a year celebration! If we're not displaying loving kindness and showing compassion the other 364 days, Christmas loses its meaning:( Can you imagine what a mess this world would be in, if God took a month off to do absolutely nothing? His display of unconditional love never ends

@DianneN I know families that fight and get upset with relatives, all year long. Then, they all get together to celebrate Christmas! Hypocritical? Yes.

I agree, people are hungry, needy, lonely and desperate year round and some of the holiday spirit should extend to the other months as well. Giving and receiving is fun. The bright colors and special food and music is fun. Giving blesses both the giver and receiver. Blessings, friend.

I just found out the name and ages of the children at the homeless apartments. They have one year that they can stay there and than they have to leave. My husband and I went and got each child a toy and a outfit for Christmas. Walmart gave us a discount on top of what we got so we got a lot more. Than we found out how many women are there and got them a set of kitchen towels with pot holders and a ten dollar gift card.
I donate to one animal charity online and to the drive through zoo here. I love animals so I bought some stuff for the cat I have been feeding since covid19 and the parents both were laid off. The little girl told me her parents are working now and said that they need no more cat food. The little girl is so sweet. I got her something for Christmas.

cute photo. Chris' birthday (my boyfriend) is on Christmas Day. I'm only giving him a card this year because of the crazy year we had. I did get him a carrot cake. He is supposed to arrive tomorrow.
