Bad news: my GERD got the worst of me and I ended up in the emergency room today.
Good/bad news: they insisted on tickling my brain with that COVID swab.
When I checked out I said, “I told you it was a head cold!!!!”
Actually, it is comforting to know that it is a head cold, as verified by a test. After all those initial contradictions, they’ve finally agreed on some facts. One of them, apparently, is that sneezing really and truly does NOT accompany COVID.
Now...if i can just get my stomach to behave....
The official theme song of the COVID nasal swab:
Remember the sitcom, Welcome Back Kotter? The show about a teacher and his "gifted" group of students (and starred a young John Travolta). Gabriel Kaplan, wh...

Ah the joys of the E.R. At least it's a cold, and you can (hopefully) start on the slow road to recovery.

The worst part is the GERD, which has been caused by all the cough drops to keep my throat tamed while I sneezed my fool head off.
Thanks for your well wishes.

@kaylachan — I think I need a dose of sitting on the beach in Daytona. (I spent my teen years there...my junior high school was where the arena is now.)

I had symptoms of what looked like COVID-19. I found out later it was a head cold after a medical exam. After getting treatment for my breathing problems using an inhaler, I felt better in terms of breathing since the weather around March of this year was cold outside.

Ah, the joys of digestive health...
I didn't have a GERD attack yesterday but something else... the bottom fell out, if you get my drift...

They gave me what’s called a GI cocktail: professional-strength Maalox mixed with liquid lidocaine. That is NASTY stuff. I also got an IV proton pump inhibitor injection, then some PPI medicine.
A GERD attack is awful, not only for the pain but because you don’t really know if it’s heartburn or a heart attack.
Hope you’re all better.

@FourWalls Yes, the first time I had a bad attack, I thought it was a heart attack and called 911 to rush me to the hospital. I took different medications like Nexium, etc. for months. Finally I changed my diet dramatically and it is about 95 % better. I hope you find a solution also!

I am glad you are alright and I remember some silly saying up your nose with a rubber hose. I don't look to find COVID symptoms because with the cold weather in Florida I wind up sneezing and blowing my nose in the mornings since my nose get cold during the night

I remember that show. As a matter of fact I watched it. I had to listen to the song and it was very cute what I heard. I saw on the side Bobby Darin and Mack the Knife so had to listen to it. I remember Mack the knife.
