Are actors and actressses really important

Are these people really a must in society.In my opinion I don't think we need them.If you really think about it they get paid to do something unreal like dodge bullets fly etc.I would like to know whether you people agree with me.

The analogy that I use is: Can you remember who won the acadamy award five years ago? And can you remember who was president of the untied states during the civil war? Answering those two question should give you an idea about how important celebities are.

You need them only if you have to need them. I don't have an interest in celebrities, that said. I enjoy watching films, I just don't idolise them.
