Update on Nashville Explosion

Thankfully I am far enough away from downtown Nashville, I did not hear the early morning explosion. Many had windows blown out of their homes six blocks away and heard the huge explosion. Police were called at 5:30 am to shots being fired. An RV was parked on 2nd Avenue. Police were very suspicious of the vehicle. No shell casings or evidence of shots being fired were found. As they got closer to the vehicle, they heard a recording saying the bomb would be detonated in 15 minutes. And then the bomb went off. Chilling to hear a woman's voice on the recording. She said, "If you can hear this message, evacuate now." It was repeated over and over until the bomb went off. Now they are saying possible terrorism. Many historic buildings in the area have been destroyed. Also apartments were in the area, all windows were blown out. Bars and restaurants in the area have also been damaged. Three officers were sent to the hospital with hearing loss. No other injuries thankfully. Sounds intentional for the officers perhaps. Some are saying AT&T (communications) may have been the target. Bomb sniffing dogs are still checking for more bombs. Nothing yet. They are still investigating and looking at camera footage to try to figure it all out. Thankfully there are many cameras in the area. Not sure yet if someone was in the RV. That news will come out soon.

@CarolDM What I read sounds like they just wanted to cause fear. Broadcasting a warning is weird.

@wolfgirl569 FBI thinks for now the AT&T building was targeted. Communication was knocked out in many states. Time will tell hopefully.

It is for sure. And many businesses were damaged. They had already been shut down with COVID. Now this.

It is too early to say what could be the cause. Yet it could be attempt by some deranged and desperate group. It could be the handiwork of some heavily armed underworld group as well!

@CarolDM Yes let us hope so. Yet it seems that somebody got so desperate or mad to try something like this. Perhaps it is the failure of the whole civilizational system?

Listening to the chilling video was scary. That is kind of strange. Giving those around 15 minutes to evacuate.

I was shocked to learn about the explosion in Nashville this morning. It reminded me of the explosion scene in the Sylvester Stallone movie called "Nighthawks" which came out in 1981 when a terrorist (Rutger Hauer) RIP blew up empty buildings in New York City.

Possibly targeting the AT&T building where the RV was parked. Communication was down in many states.
