Early Bed on the Holy Eve

Yes, I went to bed early at 10 in the evening to bed. Wow! The first time I went to bed early during Holy Eve. Never happened to me before.
Well, I was so busy yesterday, the 24th, cleaning the house before preparing our Christmas dinner. The ordered cake was collected by my friend while I was still cooking. I gave my friend a homemade Christmas tree cake made of Hazelnut besides my packed gifts for her and her daughter.
It was only my hubby, our son and I celebrated our Christmas dinner and it was a wonderful family time with them. The food was delicious. I made roast chicken, spring rolls and salad. Hazelnut cake was our dessert. I think I had 3 glasses of Sekt (a kind of German Champagne if I am not mistaken.) I was tipsy but still could manage cleaning the kitchen after our son went home.
So you see, I am not used to alcohol but due to being happy, I have not noticed that I drunk a lot and went to bed early as I should. I woke up early at 5 in the morning this Christmas.

I bought egg nog to share with my husband. He's not had any yet and if he keeps forgetting I may just drink it all myself as there's only half a bottle left approx.
This cake looks good too.

All that cleaning, cooking, eating, and yes, drinking can really tire you out! But celebrating family and Christmas makes it all worth it in the end..
