Let me update you about the day after Christmas before it officially ends in another half an hour. It's 11:30 PM and I am in my bed post a hot shower and can slip into slumber any time.Though I am wide awake right now after a fun filled day. It was warm day at 17 degree Celsius with bright sun and a pleasant breeze. . We started our day late at 8. Went for a long hike and came back. A good Christmas feast last night made us go light on our breakfast with toast butter and bananas. My nephew called up and all of a sudden we made plans to meet for a sort of tea party. That finally changed to a high end tea party taking care of our dinner too. So we basically skipped our two regular meals.. Lunch and dinner and had a high end tea party around 6 in the evening. Here is a part of the delicacies laid for the party that my daughter clicked. It's just a part and we had few more things. I got the pani puri, tikki chat and carrot halwa for dessert. My nephew came with his wife and my niece also joined. They bought some chips, baby corn manchurian and a fresh home made pineapple cake. So it was another feast. This was the first time we met since the pandemic. It was good time with food, chatting and watching a nice movie Intern post that. My daughters were happy to have someone in house. It was so welcoming in the situation we have been since March not seeing anyone or having any one home. My nephew and his wife shared a good news that they are expecting. It has been five years of their marriage in this November and the baby is expected around last of June. So we had all the more reason to celebrate They left around 11 and here I am in bed mylotting. Husband has some work to complete on his laptop and I am in all mood to mylot for some time. I couldn't be here the whole day. Hope you all had a good festival and time with loved ones. I will move to my old notifications and reading some of your posts.

Watching late night movies and shows comes as a luxury in holidays when we don't have to worry about waking up early to leave for work.

@arunima25 Precautions were followed. Around 25 each from both sides plus it waa in an open lawn. Bride and Groom's closest family members were without face masks though. The most challenging part was the cold winds as the evening progressed. I was in a warm sweater but felt the need for a jacket or coat !! Hard lesson for attending a Delhi open lawn Winter marriage and that too in late December !!

It feels good to socialize. We never valued it earlier. Good that you could attend a marriage. Were the norms and safety measures in place?? I have to attend my cousin's wedding in April. Hopefully by that time things are better. I am not comfortable travelling with all mask and face shield.

Oh! Some expressions were hilarious. And never knew pani puri is Nepalese.. I have doubts over that. Who adds yogurt to pani puri??

@arunima25 Not I. But another set of foreigners tried it. They called pani puri water smell as sewer water smell. Then they still ate it, and fell in love with it, despite sewer smell. LOL You know something you miss out on loads of fun. Americans Germans and people from Finland dislike rasgulla, cham cham, etc., because they are too sweet for them. They are fine with kaaju katli, ande ka halwa. They do not like idlis. But like lentil kachoris and samosas. Germans swoon over our potato vegetable. Naan of course. Vegetable biryani will do. Chicken Biryani, Mutton Biryani are no because they are too pungent, but they will eat the pieces. Mexicans like Besan Ka laddu, and gulab jamun. Kaju katli will also work. I like watching such things. LOL

@vandana7 Paani puri water like sewage water... I mean which country has a sewage water that smells delicious. Which ever country I stayed in or visited, I made people there fall in love with my Indian food.. Be it samosa, biryani, rasgulla... Or khichdi, I got good response.
