Welcome 2021, but....

My favorite poet is Dylan Thomas. There is a line from his most iconic poem that I often use. "Do not go gentle into that good night."
2021 is the light. But, we have to stop for a moment. We have to first remember those lost. The cost of 2020 was huge. Massive and we have to remember those not walking with us into 2021.
I am not here to praise Caesar as Shakespeare's Mark Anthony said, i am here to bury 2020.
Remember how important it is to consider those around you. As we head into the dark days of winter (Northern Hemisphere) and the hot day's of summer (Southern Hemisphere. Remember to wear a mask.
You see, we learned a lesson in 2020. The life you save, may not be your own.
Take a moment and remember. Wish those around you a safe journey this New Year. But remember the lessons of 2020.

2020 was a year that will never be forgotten since the Lake Charles region went through two hurricanes who were Laura and Delta.
I am thankful for the help that came from the local charities that brought my relatives our basic needs through the four week period of the blackout period.

Yes, we will be wearing masks for months to come; and we should all remember those that did not make it into 2021. Happy New Year!

@DocAndersen Yes. I remember seeing pictures of them from time to time. Maybe it will be our new normal.

You have put it so well.
2020 has definitely taught few invaluable lessons and we should never leave them behind. It was a year of lessons learnt hard way. We leant to value what we took for granted... And yes to be responsible to keep others and ourselves safe and healthy.

2020 was a bad year for many. I'll give you that. We've lost a lot of people. Have a good New Year all the same.
