It was Quiet

Today is a sunny and beautiful first day of 2021. A new calendar, a fresh beginning, a lot for which to look forward.
Last night hubs and I had a cozy and quiet New Year’s Eve. We had a lovely dinner, watched Twilight Zone reruns, talked to the kids, and FaceTimed with the Ice Princess, our grandson, and the family.

We rang in the New Year by watching the ball drop in Times Square, as we’ve done since our first New Year’s Eve together, even when we were out of the country traveling. We kissed and had extra long hugs this year. I shed tears, as well.
Our younger son and his girlfriend thought 2020 was a wonderful year, because it was the year they met and fell in love.

Happy New Year to you and yours! Yes, it was a year filled with happiness and sadness as well. But, if we focus on the happier moments it will get us through.
We watched a movie, and if not for the fact that it was a long movie and not over until 11:45, I wouldn't have stayed up to see the New Year come in. After watching the ball drop, I immediately went to bed. No hugs or kisses, it was that kind of year for us. I checked on Little Miss, and headed to bed.

@DianneN we usually give each other a kiss after the ball drops, not so this year. No problem really. He is a smoker.

I was afraid for others during 2020, not about myself. 2020 wasn't really much different for me, I always spend time alone at home. This is what I like! Your son and his girlfriend have focused on all the positives from this year, I love it

It was different for us, but I discovered that I enjoy being a homebody, too.
I still fear for my family and friends. This virus is raging now.
Thanks. My boys both had a happy, healthy, sweet, and prosperous year. It’s what I always want for them and pray for every night.
