Party Power... Or Sheer Madness !!

Getting dressed up for social events, having good facials etc or looking gorgeous (or handsome for Men) is fine. However, what I fail to understand and especially for many womenfolks is as to how they could come in a total summer dress on Social events especially marriages when it is in an open area plus chilly cold winds are blowing making being in open a tough task. Sometimes during such times, one feels cold even in a single sweater. Some say that they get so engrossed in the party mood, that they forget the cold. Yet I see it as pure madness. One of my maternal aunt once went to a marriage in just summer dress and told that afterwards, she fell sick and got fever as well. So I think one needs to be careful. Any thoughts?

That December event probably would have been held indoors if it weren't for the virus. If I knew it would be held outside, I would have dressed appropriately in something dressy, but warm.

@DianneN Some women do bring trendy but warm Shawls, others even forget or neglect that. Yet at times, some Men too dress in lesser layers than needed. In fact, I too miscalculated and did not had a Jacket or Coat but now I learnt my lesson.

@J3n4rA However, a fashion that can lead to illness is not good.

Hmmm... I think, that people need to know their own body and how it would react in the situation. I like cold much more than I like heat. (I got lost in the desert when I was in my early twenties. The doctors said I burned out my body's ability to tell heat and cold.) In hot weather, I start feeling sick if I have to be outside for very long. I can go out in snow and cold without feeling cold for long periods of time, even without a sweater or jacket. Pretty and I went shopping this morning. It was 10C outside. I went in shirt sleeves only. She wore a jacket and told me that just looking at me in the chilly weather was making her cold.

@DaddyEvil Things vary from person to person. I remember about one of my brothers' friend who used to roam in just a coat over a shirt unbuttoned even in extreme cold when we were dressed in layers of clothes.

@amitkokiladitya Yes a wise thing to do. Do you carry a shawl to such cold weather marriages?

I too often think about that. They say for women fashion is inversely proportional to weather. But I want my fashion to be functional too. Not a wise thing to go for fashion and fall sick. Not a good deal

As you get older, you take more care to dress according to the weather. Those who are very concerned with how they look would rather suffer the cold I think.

I would dress appropriately depending on the weather. In winter, it must be warm clothes but fashionable. I canĀ“t be sick because of a party. It is not worth it.

Many people want to look dressed up regardless of the weather. They want to show off their new duds! Happy New Year!
