Planning an adventure to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary in February during the Pandemic Travel restrictions, has been quite the challenge.
All countries are saying "STAY HOME, STAY SAFE" a motto I know, currently, more biblical than "read your bible, pray every day" . . . .
BUT to keep my sanity and to embrace the prospects of HOPE, I have planned a short trip for us mid-February. Originally Germany and Europe were on our LIST of Adventure, but since the world is in turmoil, we have decided to stay Home, on our continent and be as safe as we can with a bit of travel.
Sani Pass is on my hubby's bucket list - it's quite an adventurous trail and even with my great fear of heights, I have booked a two-day excursion up and down the Sani Pass which borders the country of Lesotho.
"Sani Pass is the mother of all South African mountain passes. Statistically and in every sense, it out distances, out climbs and outperforms all its competitors with consummate ease to have become the most iconic gravel pass in SA."

At the TOP of Sani Pass, one finds the Highest PUB in Africa. "At South Africa's Sani Mountain Lodge, you can enjoy a beer or even spend the night in the sky, often above cloud level. With an elevation of 9,429 feet (2,874 meters) on top of Sani Mountain Pass, this bar is the highest pub in Africa, and it's nothing short of an epic imbibing experience"
~ THIS is where we will be celebrating our 40th Anniversary dinner and refreshments!
We will be staying at a beautiful Bushmans lodge for the two days and then moving on toward the sea for a further week holiday on the East Coast at a place called Ballito.
Something to look forward to this adventure in 2021 as well as the birth of my 3rd grandchild at the start of February.
Be Safe everyone - Have a blessed 2021

@Tampa_girl7 We have all the time to decide what to do. IF the virus will not be around, we can drive to a restaurant not far from here where we used to go when we were not yet married.

You have time to still figure out a way to celebrate and make it special even in your home

I don't blame you for wanting to stay on your content. Glad you're still finding a way to travel.
