Never Too Old to Learn Something New

While gabbing with our older son and his family yesterday, I learned a couple of things.
1. I learned that I have a static free button on my clothes dryer. I never noticed. They have the same dryer at their house, too. I will use it in a few minutes when I do laundry.
2. I learned that my granddaughter’s online classes never end. She had work to do throughout what most kids had as a winter break vacation from school. She didn’t mind. She had school all last summer, too.
3. I learned that her “jumps” coach has a sense of humor. She failed practicing a new jump on the ice after learning how to do it in a harness. He shook his head and rolled his eyes at her failed attempt in yet another of her TIKTOK videos.
4. I also learned that we had a light coating of snow overnight and was dressed and ready to walk . Hopefully, I can walk later if it melts!
Have you learned anything new recently?

I never knew a dryer had a static free button. Mine probably doesn't but now I'll have to look.
Seems I learn something new here every day

You learned a lot. I'm glad her jumps coach has a sense of humor.
I learned we got a light dusting when I went out the door for the pool this morning and it was still snowing as there was another light dusting on my car when I came out of the Y. I love snow flurries. Well, I love snow.
I hope it melts enough for you to take your walk later.

I found and used the static free button this morning and it sure does work! As far as her coach goes, I'd love to see him without his mask. What I've seen of his body sure looks good to me.![](/Content/images/emotes/blush.gif)

I learned that this weather has decided it's winter; and it will be in the 30s and cloudy for the next 7 days. Thanks for the update. There is always something interesting going on in your life. Have a great day.

Static free button. That's nice
Oh! Your granddaughter understands that even though she doesn't have a school winter break, she is doing her work faithfully.
Haaha that's cool.
Will definitely melt so you can walk![](/Content/images/emotes/wub.gif)

Yes, it's on right now. It's so dry in the house this time of year, that static electricity occurs and makes clothes (mainly my nightgowns) cling.
Yes, she loves her new online school thank heavens!
It's above freezing now, so things are beginning to melt right now. I need to make sure the road is dry, because I don't want to slip and fall.![](/Content/images/emotes/doh.gif)

I have learned that I like mushrooms mixed with spaghetti sauce, but it is not going to be a regular thing for me.

I learned quite a bit about 20s actor William Haines after watching a biography on him.

I truly earned my dunce cap yesterday. I was washing my car and the water was coming out very slowly. I put on my mask and went and complained there was no water pressure. The attendant just shrugged. I carried on rinsing with the slow water. Then I heard a shout, "squeeze it". I had forgotten about squeezing the trigger or whatever it's called. Plenty of pressure.
I told Hubby I may never go back there. He said I can go back but not with him![](/Content/images/emotes/lol.gif)

It’s a private online school. Lots of figure skaters use it. She was accepted to their talented and gifted program and is responsible for most of her own work. She loves it and doesn’t mind at all. Of course she gets weekends off and has formal instruction during the week. She gets to skate before and after schooling.
