Comfort food for the day

I baked a 6 pound chicken this morning. Picked the meat all off and boiled the carcass for broth, and I made 2 big chicken pot pies. Gave one to a neighbor who lost her husband a few days ago. The other one is now in the freezer for another day. So my house now smells good, like chicken pie. While I was picking all the chicken meat off the bones, of course I cam across the wishbone, or as some call it, the pulley bone. OK, so I am by myself all day, no one to share with the pulling of the wishbone to make a wish. I started to toss it and then I thought OK, I can just pull it myself, use both hands, and guess ahead of time which will be the long side and which the short side. So I did. I decided if I pull it by myself, I get the wish no matter what! Don't disillusion me and tell me that's not the way it works. I need that wish in my life right now. So, do you ever use the wishbone and make a wish? And do you call it a pulley bone, or a wishbone?

The only thing I see is how you comfort a neighbour whom had lost her husband a few days ago. That is definitely something appreciative. I always thought that wishbone must be pull between two individuals. I am wrong.

I think the way you are supposed to do it is pull it between two people. Since I didn't have another person, I just invented new rules!

Wow that was a very nice thing to do for your neighbor. I am sure she appreciated it. We used to fight over the wishbone growing up.

She doesn't hardly have any family. Her one child passed away, and now her husband. I can't afford a lot, but I can usually fix some food for someone hurting. It makes me feel like I did something to help, a small gesture of love and friendship.

So kind of you to take care of your neighbor! It's also great that you had fun on your own. :)
