Day 149
Promise 608
2 Corinthians 13:4 For though he was crucified through weakness, yet he lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God toward you.
What makes a man weak or strong? Is it his actions, his personality, his environment?
Paul told the Corinthians Jesus was crucified through weakness, yet He lives by the power of God, and they do the same.
As Christians, the weakness of the cross is the power of God for your salvation. Jesus told His disciples He would voluntarily give up His life and He would take it up again. What man sees as a weakness is the selfless desire of Jesus to save everyone from Satan’s grip on their souls.
John 10:15 As the Father knows me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18 No man takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.
When you accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord, your friends found you weak. They might have said you used religion as a crutch because you were too weak to stand on your own. You could no longer think for yourself.
Little did your friends know that you found strength in your faith in Jesus Christ. He isn’t a crutch to lean on. Yet, you lean on Him because when you do; you gain His strength.
Deuteronomy 33:27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them. (KJV)
Your hope is in Jesus Christ. Your power is in Jesus Christ. Your salvation is in Jesus Christ. You are not weak. You are strong.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you that through Your Son’s weakness, I am made strong. Help me show Your strength as I do Your will. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
