Hello everyone! Today marks my first day out of my hotel ever since I set foot in Guernsey! After 14 days isolation I am finally a free bird. My manager picked me up from my hotel and got me all settled in the hospital accommodation. Happy to say although my room is small, I got my own kitchen, toilet and study. I’m still a bit overwhelmed but I think I’d like it here. How’s your new year been folks?

Good that you are out of your isolation period and now can explore. Have you shifted to a new place or it's just fir short term travel?? Have a happy and healthy 2021

I have moved here for work. Hopefully if I like it I’ll be here for a very long time. Happy new year as well Arunima. Wishing you a prosperous year ahead.

i've always wondered where frontliners stay since it seem their duties can be more than 24 hours. will you be looking for your own flat eventually?

I think it’s quite convenient this staff accommodation. At least my utility bills are all inclusive already. But if I find a cheap flat I might. I would love for my boyfriend to be able to visit.

@hereandthere yeah and even in some shops nurses are harassed. I remembered nurses boycotted Iceland because a nurse was harassed whilst shopping there. Yep I got a new boyfriend on new year. He’s awesome.

@flapiz when the pandemic started, i heard that some frontliners were refused by laundry shops here for fear of infection. so you're in a relationship now. that's good.

Thank you. Funny enough now that I’m allowed to go out I feel lazy to do so. I think I got used to quarantine life.

It’s a covid free island everyone coming in needs to be quarantined for 14 days.

That's great! I'm sure those 14 days weren't a lot of fun.

It weren’t but it was better than my first quarantine. I had a lot of friends and family calling me. It went by quite quickly.

What are you doing in Guernsey? Working in a hospital? I enjoyed a holiday there once. It is so small, but lovely. I wrote a poem there sitting on a cliff. Or rather, several poems so have good memories.

Hi Jackalyn! I am working as a nurse here in the hospital. Awesome I’m a newbie are there some sights that you would recommend for me to see? I’d love to read your poems.
