A Nurse's View Of The Vaccine

I came across an article written by a nurse but there is no link to it. She asks us to copy/paste it in order to share it but as I don't think that's allowed on this site I will summarise what she says. I think it's important.
She has spent the last few days at work defending the Pfizer vaccine. She's taken hours and hours learning all she can about it, has been on the Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency to further her knowledge, while still doing her 'day job'.
She thinks she's now in a good position to understand the vaccine, so how come every Facebook user knows better???
Hundreds of very committed scientists have spent many thousands of hours developing this vaccine using 44,000 people as guinea pigs. However, over the last few days she's had many patients saying they are not going to have it.
She is imploring everyone to "please STOP LISTENING TO IDIOTS ON FACEBOOK who have NO evidence, NO knowledge but like to spread fear and dissent".
She's afraid that their irresponsible rambling will be responsible for needless deaths. The vaccine has been through all the very rigorous testing and trials, and we need to counteract the ignorance and prejudice that is being spewed out.
She finishes by saying that if you are lucky enough to be offered it take it with both hands! I personally will be doing just that, but everyone has the right to decide for themselves.
Posted on behalf of a National Health Service nurse.

I think that vaccinations have proven that they work.
When we ponder the flu shot, the polio vaccine, mumps, measles, rubella, shingles, and the list goes on, those shots have greatly enhanced our lives and quality of life.
If an individual has questions, then they should be seeking professional medical advise not shooting their mouth off on a social media platform. Nothing good can come from that.
I am glad that you posted this information, maybe people will stop and think and then realize that if they have questions they should seek out professional not popular advise.

@jaboUK Everyone has the right to decide whether or not they want to be vaccinated, I don't pay attention to what people say on social networks, but what scientists say from several countries, it's just that it takes a couple of years to make a good vaccine (even the birds on the branch know)
I'm just asking how this can work that they made in a couple of months and not one but several of them, a classic race for money, while not bearing any responsibility for possible consequences .. I do not belong to the group that must get vaccinated but I certainly wouldn't fall.

I saw a programme on the TV which explained how they were able to do it so quickly - normal process is they do one thing, wait a while then take the next step. The programme explained that they did things 'side-by-side', It was very convincing.
As you say, it's an individual's right to be vaccinated or not, but for it to be successful the majority of people will need to have it.

@LowRiderX they could be pulling up the sleeve enough to get the needle underneath without it looking like that from the front. I had a shingles vaccine in the back of my arm and they didn't move my sleeve much yet it went into my arm not my sleeve.
But I understand if your government isn't too be trusted that would make it hard.

@jaboUK I understand you, but it is very difficult to trust this government in my country, there are rallies here every day, the people are running out of strength and patience ... we don't trust these people anymore, we don't even believe they even if they tell us that tomorrow is Saturday..
In our country, this is how the government representatives receive the vaccine.. from the back, over the shirt..pfffff

I appreciate that you shared the point of view of this nurse. I think that people who know nothing should not discourage those who are ready to get the vaccine to scare them. Our politicians two days ago said that as soon as Moderna vaccine is available they will all be vaccinated, for the moment they are vaccinating the elders in nursing homes using Pfizer and the vaccine is only available for them and the nurses working in nursery homes for the moment. I have time until the end of February to decide, because we will not be "called" before that day.

Ever since the fiasco because of the vaccine for the Swine flu I have not trusted any of those vaccines and that won't change. I'm not bad mouthing this vaccine but when I got that Swine flue vaccine it made me sicker than a dog and I really do not want to go through that now.

She is right and thanks for sharing. In the US, we have many people who are more concerned with their own civil liberties than with the rights and health of others.
I don't listen to morons. I will be getting the vaccine as soon as it's available to my age group. I listen to the scientists and medical authorities.

Thanks for posting this. I agree, there do seem to be a lot of people who won't take it. I don't know why. Don't they want and end to all this? I'm getting it asap

@FayeHazel Sadly that is true. My view is that the medical profession wouldn't be recommending it if it wasn't as safe as it can be. Of course I realise that nothing can be guaranteed, but very few things in life can.

@jaboUK I agree. I think this is the only way to contain this thing so life can get back to normal. But (here) there's a lot of fear mongering. Some random person without a background like nursing will say they heard something from someone who read an article online that said there is this or that danger - and people will believe that

I have a friend her husband works for Pfizer and they sent off the stuff for others and did not even save any for their own employees and I feel that is rude sorry if it makes anyone mad.

It's neither good to spread news on media nor simply trust in everything. There should be reliability when it concerns about public health.
When everything goes well , all are happy.
Shorttime preparation is causing spurious notions in people. Otherwise it is great service to global community.
There should be wide publicity on how it's reliable and safe
