Ridiculously Obscure Facts

I bet many of you never knew these wonderfully interesting facts. I'm also sure you never gave any of these trivial facts any thought either. But like a good joke here are 3 facts I found which you can spring on someone to impress them with your amazing knowledge of useless information. MANY ORANGES ARE ACTUALLY GREEN -Yes it's true, when ripe, oranges contain plenty of chlorophyll the green color pigment found in the cells of plants. Then why do we see the color orange with this fruit? It comes down to temperature. In a country like the U.S. where it is colder, oranges lose their chlorophyll thus the color change. So, in a tropical climate like South America, oranges are green all year round. Have you ever tasted a ripened Green orange? PLAYING DANCE MUSIC CAN REPEL MOSQUITOES -Not just any dance music, but electronic dance music! Seems the "very high and very low frequencies" as well as "excessive loudness and constantly escalating pitch" discourages the yellow fever mosquito from biting victims and mating. Now that's the kind of news that makes one want to get up on their feet and party! How do you keep mosquitoes from biting you? HAWAIIAN PIZZA WAS INVENTED BY A GREEK BY WAY OF CANADA -A creative way to use a can of pineapple and messing with your taste buds. Who knew such a wild and crazy guy could popularize a pizza topping just by having fun? Here is how it all came about... Restaurant owner Sam Panopoulos was born in Greece but moved to Canada when he was 20 years old. In 1962, this restauranteur decided to put pineapple on pizza. Have you ever tried pineapple on your pizza? I was never a fan myself. How about you? Hope you found these interesting obscure facts entertaining. Now, your ready to dazzle your friends with some useless information... Which fact did you find most interesting? Source- Best Life Photo- pixabay

Very odd facts, but very useless to me and my friends. I've tried pineapple pizza and not a fan.

@DianneN I was not a fan at first but it does kind of grow on you. Definitely not an everyday thing or even a routine thing, but a slice every now and then is kind of nice.

@dgobucks226 No, not really. The natural carmalization of the fruit would be too sweet for me.

I agree with you. As I mentioned to A R I like pineapple slices just not on pizza. Somehow something associated with a tropical climate on an Italian item with sauce is as strange as these funny useless facts, lol.

I knew about Hawaiian Pizza, that I totally dislike. I would like to play that music to repel mosquitoes, but unfortunately that kind of music is also repulsive to me.. I had green ripe oranges, but most oranges I buy are from south of Italy and they are a WINTER fruit, so they are orange because it's cold when they are picked up.

Yes, who would of thought a music genre would be effective? I've tried sprays, Citronella Candles and bought a gadget that zaps them. Nothing works for me they like my blood so much nothing deters them. Maybe I need to change my repellent technique to dance music. At least I can be entertained

No wonder I was not bitten by the mosquitoes when my husband played Ramstein music in our living room in our home in the Philippines. It was so loud. I love pineapples on my pizza and do it sometimes. Thanks for the info.
